I had a question about connections. The pictures are for a WBA .. DBV connects at the DBV power supply.

Couldn't get a good interior door picture but shows the connection from the inside.

I got mine today too (for S+). I had what I thought was a problem. Apparently the unit will store what the last bill was that was used. So mine were showing orange for random bills (i.e one showed $5 another $50). But it will reset to the correct one after inserting the first bill.

Also I was unsure how to mount it since it came with no hardware. So I pulled the existing bezel light board off of the housing and used the housing by feeding the wire through one of the lamp holes. Since I also have a light up bill decal, I wrapped up the old bezel board (no lamps) and stuck it up in in there.

That is the correct installation. No hardware required. Use existing hardware.

For those with a S+, you may have to drill the rivet that holds the bezel lamp board to the housing. One of mine pried apart pretty easliy, but the other needed to be drilled or else I would have probably broken something just leave the board on and stick the cable though a lamp hole.

Only took a few minutes to install.  It works

Yep, that will work. :25- I guess I was thinking about how to deal with the light up bill sticker first, and before I realized that you needed to use the housing on the new one, I had already taken the board off and tucked it away.

The problem with these Sentry toys is:
Once you have   one....ALL your machine MUST have one!  :96- :72-

That is why I bought one from April in 2007 for the S+.
The Vision Ready had one.

My other machines are saying they want one. I know I'll have to get more.
There's not end to adding extras to a machine.

Can you tell me how you hooked up the orange
wires for you flashing label and did the sentry
bezel come with the wiring to hook it up to the PS ?
I just ordered the sentry bezel and trying to get
things ready to install it when it gets here.

Yes, the unit comes with the cable that goes to the power supply. In hindsight I overthought things because I was not sure how to install it and didn't realize you needed to use the old housing.

So just unscrew and remove the existing bezel lamp assembly. Remove the lamp holders (one will be the one for the light up decal). Route the cable for the sentry through the lamp hole on the right so it will be closest to the sentry connector. Plug the cable into the sentry and put it all back together just as if it was the regular bezel. Then remove the bulb from the lamp holder that is used for the light up decal and stick it in the other lamp holder hole and you are done.

i installed it in like 15 minutes, it was pretty simple accept is it suppose to be tilted up a little like that with the little white glare underneath??????? also do you guys think it would look better with a black money bezel instead of the green one :103-

i didnt mess with the lamps.......i left them alone..... i wouldnt even no where they are lol :208- :97- with my luck id pull the wrong lamp out and short my machine..... :279-  im leaning towards the green too.....i dont no what black would look like though with the lamps lighting up.....

i had to reinstall the sentry to make it flush....i messed up the first time,  the bottom was sticking out..... finally done this is my end result..... i wanna thank ohio gaming for getting these...... they def make the slot look hotter.......

i just noticed something weird on my sentry every denom lights up when you insert money in it except $20 bill.....when i run a $20 bill in the machine the $20 denom doeesnt light up  :103- :103- :103- anyone else with that problem?

Put one in my 5 reeler and all the denoms light up by bill type inserted.
Maybe the SMD LED is burned out behind the 20???   :103-
Perhaps you could move the one behind the ticket symbol?

No, soldered to the board, I just looked at my extra one...

There are two LEDS a red and a green for each denomination They should cycle between red and green on power up. They both come on to produce orange after a bill is inserted. They are surface mount LEDS, so probably not recommended to try and move them without the right soldering equipment.

I have seen guys solder those tiny little SMD's
but it takes a steadier hand than I have to do it.  :279-

maybe ohio gaming can swap it out for me if he still has any wba's left......or i just use 50s and 100s in my machine........ :97-

i have found this thread and hope you could help. I have a Bally Alpha S9000 machine with WBA bill acceptor. I would like to connect a Smart Entry Bezel to it, but don´t know about the wiring. At the bezel there are 3 thin wires (brown-black-red). The end was cutted of; so no connector there. At the acceptor all connectors are plugged; only one connector is not plugged (it has 4 wires; grey-white-blue-violet). Please see the pictures.

Could you perhaps tell me how to fix it? Thanks a lot  :88-

Reply #6 in this thread has pictures or the WBA connections. If you click on the picture, it should open up large enough to see where the wires would go.

i have just looked to #6. But to be honest i cant figure out the wiring. I guess on the pictures there is a IGT S2000 machine? Mine is a Bally S9000; could it be different there? I have seen on the pictures there are 4 cables coming from the bezel; at my bezel there are only 3 cables. Is there something missing?

Hmmm....even the DBV model bezels have 4 wires. Not sure about a Bally setup. I'm sure someone will be able to help though. May have better luck asking in the Bally or DBV areas since not eveyone who knows may be looking at this tread.

I have a circuit diagram of the BV; but didn´t know where to connect the 3 wires from the sentry bezel. Please help ...  Thanks a lot  :3- 

Is there a 3 wire connector that is not being used coming out of the back of your bill acceptor?
See if your bezel will plug into it?

His sentry bezel wires are cut, so there is no pigtail. He needs to know how to splice it into his bally wires.

thanks for your help. There is only a 4 wire connector coming out of the back from my BV which is not used. I have looked in the circuit of the BV; i guess the connections are "LED+ / LED- / NC / NC". I´am pretty sure, they are not the ones i could use. There are 3 wires that come out from the sentry bezel and i need to know where to connect them to the WBA / the machine connector like poppo says. 

At a minimum the sentry needs +v, gnd, and a data line since it needs to know what denomination to light up. It's not just an on/off light like a normal bezel.

Poppo, thats what i have supposed too. One wire is GND, the other +12 volts (?) and the other is the "Data Line". I have thought over to try the following: Connecting the bezel to GND / + 12 volts and the data cable to "TX" (the data output of the BV). What do you mean? Do you know, what cable of the Sentry Bezel is GND, +12 volts and Data? Thanks a lot :3-   

It looks like the red is +12v, black is ground, and brown is data.

I think you are right...i guess i will try it that way. Is it the same cabling at your machine?

On a S+ connected to a DVB-200, the wires are like below.  The orange wire corresponds to your brown wire coming from the sentry.

So,the orange wire is "data" which is the brown at my bezel? Could you send me the pin-out overview like the one for the dvb for the wba to me please? :-)

I don't have any WBA info. Maybe someone else does.

Hello poppo,

today i have tried to connect the sentry bezel to my WBA. I have connected the black wire to GND and the red wire to +12 volts. The sentry bezel cycles through all colours but finally only the blue ambulance led is flashing. To connect the brown data-wire i have tried several things: connected it to TX, RX and all other pins; no result. Then i have soldered a fourth wire at the sentry (to replace the white cable that is shown in one picture at the beginning of this thread. I connected the two cable to TX / RX , change them and several other pins; still no result  :60-

Perhaps somebody has connected this sentry to a WBA yet and could tell me how to connect. Would be great. Any help is welcome. :3-

One thing that I would wonder about is if the bezel will work with a Bally. Even though it's using a WBA, I believe the BV firmware is different. Do you know if this bezel ever worked on that machine?

Also, you probably have to power the unit every time you try a different connection.

Yes, the bezel comes out of a Bally S9000 machine. I bought a game kit (only the parts) and the bezel was definetly in the Bally machine. But the wires where cutted of and the dealer doesnt response any more so i dont know how to wire it. Do you know if i will need 3 oder 4 connecting-wires for a WBA? If i always need to power down and up the machine to find the right connections i guess this will be nearly impossible. I guess, i will need a connection diagram or something. Is your machine a IGT or Bally?

Well, the WBA at pictures earlier show 4 wires, but maybe a Bally only needs 3. I have a IGT, so I have no idea. As far as powering down between trying different connection, I am only speculating since the bezel goes though a self test and then receives data from the BV. That is why you are getting the ambulance symbol because it thinks the BV is broken. I don;t know if you can hook it up once that is displayed and have it work without powering the machine down and back up again.

When you had the blue ambulance flashing...all you had to do was wait a few minutes
and it should have went away and the bill slot would light up wanting you to put a note into it!

Assuming it's connected properly.

   Sometimes if credits are already on the machine  i have to play a couple spins for it to turn on (maybee I'm just impatient)

Is that just for the WBA? Mine is ready as soon as the BV finishes cycling.

I should try something since I have a S+ and a S2000 swap the Sentrys and see if the still function properly
They should, unless the sentry communications have to match the machine they are being used in.

I have 2 different versions and no they are not interchangeable the micro ______ whatever connector on them are slightly different sizes with 5 pins
