Title: S-2000 Nightmare Post by: Incite Panic on May 11, 2011, 08:16:55 PM Good day to all:
I'm completely stumped, and would like to kindly request any advice please. I have an S-2000 with a Coin-in-jam, and no functions on the player panel. I found it with an improvised coin in optic jumper. So I made sure it was the proper pin out, took out the player panel harness, and tried it in another game. It worked. I then tried the door senet harness. It works in another game as well. I have tried another MPU in the game, same problem. I have tried another backplane, same problem. I have swapped the power supply, same problem. I have disconnected everything except the front door harness, same problem. The harnesses tests good in other games. The I/O's test good in other games. The MPU, and backplane test good in other games. The meter board tests good in other games. I have ruled out the ballasts, printer, and BV. I would really appreciate any ideas on this. Thanks in advance, and Kind regards: Title: Re: S-2000 Nightmare Post by: cowboygames on May 11, 2011, 08:22:00 PM Could possibly be a shorted button switch on the player panel
Title: Re: S-2000 Nightmare Post by: Incite Panic on May 11, 2011, 08:26:45 PM It's possible, but why would it work in another game?
I put it in another game, and there is no tilt, and the switches function as they should. I should mention that I have also tried another VFD, and seven segment display. Can I see a picture of this? I've made some of these for people and it's possible that yours is NOT with the correct pin-outs? If you take a good high resolution photo of the jumper housing where the wires are tied together - I may be able to spot something. Do you have an actual coin mech and harness to plug in to try for now? ADD>>> I re-read your post and it looks like you've tried the jumper plug in another machine. I'd still try sticking in a coin mech and full coin-in harness to see if that will clear the error message. Thanks very much all, for your advise, and your time. As for the candle that was discounted early off, as I too have seen that. I finally got this game solved after nearly giving up. I was using three bad MPU's. All three had the same symptoms. When I finally got a new one I tried it out of desperation, and viola. Kind regards: Title: Re: S-2000 Nightmare Post by: stayouttadabunker on May 14, 2011, 12:26:31 PM I could see one bad MPU but three of them? Holy Moly!
Thanks for the update! :3- Karma to you! :89- Title: Re: S-2000 Nightmare Post by: slots4home on May 14, 2011, 02:38:27 PM I had the same problem and it was the I O board on the door
