I just bought my wife an IGT S2000 slot machine today. It is our very first slot machine and we love it. It's called a Triple Seven Butterfly. The shop I bought it from showed me how to turn down the sound (thank God, the 10 setting shook the entire house!). I also noticed that there is other options but when I asked the guy he said that I would never need to use them but I want to learn more about the machine. Is there a list or any kind of digital manual that is available? I'll purchase one if I have too. Of course looking at the other posts here I have a buttload to learn. I really like the idea that I can change the game to other games with kits.

Thanks for any help and or direction you can provide on the "options" menu.

That's a dandy of a first machine you picked up!  Any photos or videos of your machine would be appreciated by all.  I've had my feelers out for a while trying to find the glass and reel strips for that one.  I'm a kit addict as some of the guys around here know very well.  ;)  Oh yeah, the IGT S2000 games can be changed...but more about that later as you familarize yourself with the forums and members out here.  Great group of folks and we all share the same excitement as you with our games and are willing to help you out as we can. 

Oh one other thing...familiarize yourself with the word "minty."

So should I stay away from the options menu? I don't want to screw the game up. I was just wondering what I can change with it. I don't need a full manual as I have no clue about anything inside of the machine.

That's a real nice machine for a first machine.  Welcome to the site, Robert -- you've found the best resource for home ownership of slot machines, hands down.

There aren't a ton of settings you can mess with.  You can change the volume, you can enable or disable the enhanced sounds (assuming your machine has the add-on sound board and SIMM for your game) (...and if you have it, there's no reason you'd want to disable them), you can change the text on printed tickets (ie. you can have it say "Robert's Casino" on the printed tickets), and that's more or less it for settings you can change without a keychip (a special chip that allows you to do more advanced programming, including changing the available denominations, long-term payback percentage, etc.).

Thanks for the info! What menu option do I check to see if I have the enhanced sounds? When the guy went into the options menu at the store there seemed to be a lot of them. I'll have to check out the menu tomorrow night.

I didn't even know I could personalize the tickets, very cool! I'll have to find out what kind of paper I need to use for the tickets but they had better say "Theresa's Casino" or I'll be in trouble with my wife since I bought the machine for her. ;-)

Welcome to the forum. I saw that you went to The Ohio State University so I figured I should say hi. I went to Otterbein College and lived in Westerville for about 6 years before moving down here to northern Kentucky. And were in the same field, I'm a sql server DBA :88-

You'll learn quickly that machines like to multiply, pretty soon you'll need a bigger house to store them all. I started with one pachislo but quickly picked up 4 american machines soon thereafter.

Glad to help.  As far as the printer paper you need, I should ask first, is your printer enabled and working now?  (That is, when you press "cash out", does a ticket pop out?)

If so, then all you'll need is some replacement stacks of printer paper down the road.  You can post a "WTB" ("Want To Buy") ad in the classifieds section (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?board=5.0) of the forum and I'm sure one of the vendors (or another member perhaps) who frequents the forum will be able to supply you with additional stacks of paper.

I have no idea if it even has a printer inside. I'll have to check tonight. My wife was so excited to get it home and play yesterday I didn't get a chance to give the machine a good "once over". I'll have to check tonight.

I saw the slot for the printer, just not sure if the actual printer is installed behind the slot. I would assume so, but I've been in trouble for assuming before. ;-)

As knagl asked you. When you hit the cash out does it print a ticket , coins or do you turn a key on R side?

The guy at the store said we turn a key on the right hand side to cash out. Havent tried hitting the cash out button yet. To be honest we only played with it for about an hour last night and haven't cashed out at all. I put $1,000 into it last night for my wife to play with. I'll have more time to dig into the options / features this weekend.

If you remove trim plate beside ticket printer. (lift up on bottom & pull out)
Pull ticket printer out about 2 inches.
Remove top glass (a little) by lifting up to clear tabs you can remove top glass & see if there is paper in printer.

Itihica, troublesome printers, but work well when they do. You will have to use the key chip to enable the printer and set the money limits to use it. Sounds like in the shop, he had it to do hand pays on all cashouts, which is not bad, but you lose what you built up.

Maybe printer was no good & he had it disabled.

Some even take out the bill validators and make it coin in and out entirely. Or like some on another site, freeplay button to add credits and when you cash out, noise, no coins come out. So it is truly no money in or out. As has been discussed, this still may not make the game legal in a state where it has been deemed illegal (has this ever stopped anybody)??

Your right. My problem is I put all the extras in. End results is I get to much money in a machine. If someone is selling they want to keep the
extras out to keep price down.

That's called a Topper and they are a little pricey. But they dress up the machine a lot and make it swell!

Ok, thanks to Jim at Blue Ridge Slots and another member here I am back in business! I'm kind of afraid to try the key chip again as I had so many (self inflicted) problems with having to keep removing chips last time. Can someone point me onward the easiest way to key the machine with the least amount of "removing" chips list?

Glad you are back up, You should be able to do all the key chip changes in one swap. If you have problems with chips you might want to look into a ZIF socket. They allow you to insert and remove a chip with just a throw of a lever. About $9 at most suppliers.

I have to admit, when people learn I have my Ph.D. in database engineering and have worked for Google and Microsoft they think I should have no problems with these chips and circuit boards, but I'm a software guy not a hardware guy. All they see is a "computer" and think I should be able to do it all. (My relatives are the worst at that). ;-)

Ok, got the machine key chip working. I can now get into the configure menus but still can't figure out how to lower the credits from .25 .50 1.00 and 2.00

Don't forget my machine only accepts bills. I do have the coin stuff on the inside but when I try and run a .25 through it I keep getting a coin error.

I've read through the manual explaining the different menu items but I'm still not sure what I am doing wrong.

If anyone has a few free minutes to walk me through the menus and what I need to change please call me anytime at 602-910-3797

Robert, when changing denoms on my machine, I have to clear it and then key if I want to change denominations.  Once the accounting info for coin value and denominations are set, I believe the machine needs to be cleared...a key chip by itself won't do it.  Maybe I'll get trampled by other members by suggesting this, but in my case, this is what I need to do if I want to re-denom my machine.  The attached document is what I use and it works great every time.  I wasn't sure if you have a clear chip AND a key chip.

Crap, that's what I thought. I was told I didn't need to clear it.

I did have a member send me a clear chip but it got crushed in the mail and is no longer usable.

Trying to get this machine to use credits lower than .25 is going to be the death of me. :-(

Check the accounting denom under 7.1.1.1
No key chip needed to look at the key chip config menus.
if is at $0.01 then you wont need to clear it.
 

Foster I just got off the phone with Robert and he managed to get the legs straighten to the clear chip I sent him.  The game is now working as a penny machine. Well I think as a .01, .25, .50, 1.00
