Listed as NOS. Got one and it's DOA (error 21).  :47-  Waiting to hear back from the selller.

All that were tested (we tested 12 total) worked in our machines. Send it back and we will either refund or send you another tested one, whichever you prefer. "

I had only bought it as a spare. It does look new, but got an error 21 as soon as I powered up the machine. Tried it a few times to make sure I had it seated properly. No luck. Mine works fine.

It's going to get replaced, so I'll wait and see how that works out. Maybe it was just a fluke.

Did someone move this thread from the e-bay section?  :103-

Anyway, I got a reply from the seller that the returned board tested ok. Now I tried it in both of my machines multiple times and it always gave me an error 21. I put mine back in and it would be fine. Is there anything else that could possible cause a coin optics not to work in more than one machine?  :103-

In any case they are sending me another one.

I assume you're using your own black plastic coin insert as the optics you bought didn't show one in the picture correct?

Yep. Everything lined up with the holes fine.

And I don't have any S+ optics to compare it to but I seem to remember they were differant plugs so it's not like you could mistake one for the other. Hell, you'd know the differance anyway. I wouldn't worry about it, he's sending a new one, it's kind of a pain but it's all good.

I received the replacement optics today and they work just fine. The only thing I noticed different was this set had all three of the receivers (or transmitters?)that are shaped like little barrels (like the one circled below of my existing optics). The other one had all three like the other two here. In any case it all worked out.

Looks like an old refurbished set of optics.
Definitely not new at all.
But they work right? I guess that's all that counts...
I personally like the gold barrels...it's a matter of taste really... :72-

The one pictured are my existing set.  I don't know if the barrel type optics are original or replacements. Obviously something was replaced on my set at one point.

But yes, even if the replacements are not new, they work, and that is all that really matters.  :89-

The new ones don't have the copper barrels.  :60-
They are just plain plastic-type optics.
Here's some pictures of brand new coin-in optics pulled out of the static bag.

That looks like the first set I got.

I see yours says 'emitter' on the side with the barrels, so I guess that answers which are which. Mine don't say that.

But Poppo...these are "barrel-less"...if that's a word?   :72-

I don't know if "barrel-less" is a word, but I beleive "barrel-ass" is a word. It's derived from the Polish word barrelasski, meaning big butt from to much beer. :89-
