Title: S5500 ramclear with 960000 mains . (problem solved)
Post by: wrongdon on June 08, 2011, 10:54:25 PM
I have a S5500 Blazing 7's that is giving me grief . I have never seen it run but am trying to revive it .
Installed new battery , get error code 83F . Purchased some clear chips off ebay and when installed no
matter what combination of buttons i hold at power up nothing ever appears on the display . I have
also tried it with the clear jumper on and off and without the clear chips with just the jumper .
I have been through all 24 pages in this section in search of an answer and i found two answers .
One guy installed 920000 mains and the other burned his clear chips to a faster chip , i think..
I think that is what i will try next , see if i have a faster 512 than the ebay guy used and see if it works .
In any case if i go with the 920000 or other mains you guys may suggest , do they need to match the
game ? If so , here is a pic of the glass with what pays what and such . So i guess i am wondering if there
are different clear chips for 960000 mains , and if so do any of you have them ? And if i should switch , does
anybody have those ?
Thanks all
Don

Update :
I checked the clear chips i purchased and they are on 150ns eproms , I don't have anything
faster than that . I recieved a PM saying that i need to change U4 , U5 , U12 and U15 to
the 920000 chips and i would be good to go .
So does anybody have a set of these for sale ?
Thanks
Don

With the 92000 you dont need clear chips just move the jumper and clear
