Title: Ive worked on WBA and UBA bill Validator for about 7 years Post by: Dave57 on June 12, 2011, 04:52:37 PM Ive been working on both the WBA and UBA Validators for about 7 years now, I've totally torn these systems down to the point were I only had the frames. Things that I have found;
1. Dirt and dust is your enemy - Clean with a mild solution of simple green and water 2. Noisy bill Validators are usually the cause of dirty gears or a motro going out - clean, replace motor(s) 3. not accepting bills, is usually a dirty bill validator head, or software update - take apart head and replace bad components and clean, update your software as needed 4. Bill gets stuck inside bill validator - clean validator, check sensors and Ive also found can alignment is a problem after a drop 5. motor timing errors are usually cuased by the gear on the motor is broken/cracked or not on correctly Ive never had a problem on these I could not fix or replace you can all email me or jus post off of here if you have any questions :279- Title: Re: Ive worked on WBA and UBA bill Validator for about 7 years Post by: ChizzleMonkey on December 17, 2011, 04:23:19 PM Just something to add here...after replacing ANY optical boards, gears, belts, cpu boards, motors...do a calibration. It will reset your bill validator (and optics) back to factory defaults. Actually, a calibration should be added to preventative maintenance procedures.

In the two attempts I've made so far I've gotten sensor errors. When I initiate the standard running test I get an anti pullback fault error code. If I try to do any sensor test i get just error codes. I just find it odd that both bv's have the same issues. If there is way you can help me out or maybe point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

If not, go here under PRODUCT MANUALS http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads.aspx Next, on the same link, under SOFTWARE TOOLS, click on JCM TOOL SUITE and install it on your computer. In order to do a calibration on the UBA you will need both the white and black calibration cards as well as the Magtool and the JCM Tool Suite installed on a computer. I'm guessing during your repairs you have swapped sensor boards from one UBA to another? They need to be calibrated.
