Title: IGT AVP Trimline
Post by: lmartin185 on June 13, 2011, 05:29:36 PM
I'm having trouble enabling the printer (Gen2 Universal) on this trimline.  I have eKeys 3, 4, 5.  Can anyone walk me through the whole clear process?  Thanks.

to clear i think you'll need a diagnostic key as well as the ekeys

Why would one want to clear the machine to "enable" a printer?
Is that really necessary?  :129-
Sounds like you're going backwards...

To clear it you will need the diagnostic program, as morning_glory21 said.  It is not an ekey per se, but a diagnostic program that is loaded on a usb drive.  Diagnostic 014-04 is what I have.

You install the usb drive with the diagnostic program on it in one of the usb ports under the "C" door, turn the machine on and let it load.  It will load into a diagnostic menu.  You will then need to plug in ekey 4 (advanced diagnostics) in the other usb port under the"C" door (don't unplug the usb drive).  That will allow access to the grayed out portions of the menu.  Non-Volatile Storage is the one you want to clear RAM.  Don't wipe the hard drive unless you have a way of reloading the game software.  Just wipe cabinet and safe storage.

So I'm getting a red and white screen that I cannot clear even after turning the keyswitch multiple time.  Any help on how to get past this will greatly be appreciated.  Here is what the screen somewhat looks like.

Recoverable Error

ConfigTableslterator::ConfigTableslterator: invalid size

 ./SystemComponents/ConfigManager

Turn  Attendant Key to Clear

i would clear cabinet memory and safe storage as AnotherTech suggested.  this is about the equivalent of "clearchipping" an S2000 game so you'll have to reconfigure everything and enable all of your themes.  you are going to need the diagnostic program to perform any type of "clearing" on an AVP game.

I'd try the vendors, the classifieds, or maybe even ebay for the Diagnostic 014-04.  IGT won't deal with home users, but maybe some vendors can get it from them.  Dynasty Games in Reno comes to mind right now.

Just to see if it would work, I copied the contents of the Diagnostic USB drive to another flash drive and tried it.  No Go.  :81-

It comes up with a USB flash drive authentication failed and just loads up as if it wasn't there.  :72-

On my machine the diagnostic USB stick works when plugged into the USB hub as well.  My machine is family 13 though so maybe the changed something in the boots.

Sounds like he was attempting to use a copied USB diagnostics key and it didn't work. No surprise there, if they were gonna make the process complicated anyway it's easy to believe they'd protect those keys from copying
