Title: S2000 GAME CHANGE Post by: vegasbaby on June 22, 2011, 02:32:34 AM HI
I just installed new game on my s2000 performed clear first as i will changing the machines denomination. Then going step by step i removed the clear and inserted the Sb chip.Powered up the machine expecting the display to show testing memory and alarm sound, but display showed nothing and no alarms. So going back through some old post a member stated there is a few ways to do the clear, one being step #1 clear, then step #2 insert key chip.#3 then the Sb chip.Well that order worked the display lit up displaying netplex link down &display passed self test.So i powered down and installed the Sb chip, powered up and no display. What am i missing here. What steps am i missing. THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN THIS PROBLEM. Title: Re: S2000 GAME CHANGE Post by: Foster on June 22, 2011, 03:05:58 AM Match the notch on chip with notch on socket
Make sure you do not have any bent pins Make sure that you are getting all pins in the socket. Also if I am going to do a clear and/or a key chip before changing a game I do not clear or key chip it until I know the base chip works. That way I know the base chip for the theme I am putting in the game works even if the denom and or some setting are not what I want for that theme. This I install the reel strips and matching base chip first, test the game to be sure I have the right base chip and matching strips working. Install Clear chip, let it do its thing, re-install base chip, clear any errors, do any key chip stuff I can do without the key chip (it will let you do a few of them) Install key chip do all the key chip config I need to do (I touch just about every part of the 3 key chip menus) do the rest of the config. At some point while the machine is testing its memory the 2 or 3 times It does it during I get the award and belly glass installed, and if needed change the reel glass as well I can do a game change without a key chip or clear in 15 minutes as long as I get the reel strips and glass ready before I start. Then I do the clear and key chip configure the key chip stuff and I have a lot to configure then the rest of the machine config. FYI for everyone if you have to clear a s2000 set the accounting denom to 0.01 to save yourself having to clear it when you want to change the denomination again. Once set the accounting denom to a penny 0.01 you wont need a clear everytime you do a denom change, just the key chip. I am like the S+ people that state do not clear the machine unless you absolutely have to do so. you will save yourself time in the long run. THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN THIS PROBLEM. Mark Do not do anything but remove your new SB chip and install the old one. See if it now boots up. If it does your new SB chip is bad. if it doesn't boot up now exchange the new SG (game) chips with the old ones and see what happens. Make sure your installing all eproms in the proper direction. Oh and make sure you don't have Game 1 and 2 in the wrong socket ( switched) Why don'tyou post the SB and SG numbers your using. The guys here will get you through this.

I think you have them in the wrong sockets. Switch those those two chips with each other. Click on photo to enlarge if needed...>>> Title: Re: S2000 GAME CHANGE Post by: vegasbaby on June 22, 2011, 12:34:13 PM HI
