Just got my s2000 double diamonds deluxe up and running today.The printer is giving me fits,it worked a few times then spit out errors as stated above,first it stated out of paper call attendant.I have checked the basic the paper is full and loaded correctly.I have cleaned the sensor,still have same errors.Some of problem could be the brand of printer-ititchi.Don't have a working printer to check this one.Dose anyone have any sure fire tips.Its just odd it worked for a couple prints,then error codes.Or can i just key the machine again & disable the printer so i can use the machine.If i purchase a new printer,what brand is best?and are they all used buyer beware printers?

Lift the door latch 4 or 5 times.  All the way up and all the way down.

You cleaned the printer sensors...good...now,  clean the paper rollers.
Paper slips real easy when the rollers and belts are full of palm grease and dead skin body oils.
Not to mention nicotine from years of tobacco smoke and other really fine ingredients in casino floor air.   :72-

Thanks for mentioning this.  What's up with that?  I've noticed on both of my S2000s that if I pull the printer out and then put it back in I have to do just that before the machine recognizes that the printer door is actually closed.  Is that normal?  I can't say I've ever seen them do that in the casino...

It must be I do not think it has to be 4 or 5 times though
after doing anything that causes printer door open error, I close, open, close the main door which works for me 99.99% of the time.

Doesn't the S2000 stack tilts & errors? Has anyone checked the VFD during these multiple door opens and closures to see if it is clearing multiple error/tilt codes?

Correct...it stacks errors.  Pull the printer out...it stacks a "printer door open error".  Re-feed the paper...it stacks a "paper out" error.  And like everyone said, open and close the door a second time and the errors should clear.  If not, try a one more time.  If you still have the printer errors, it's worth trying going to I/O (4) in the menu and doing the Netplex Config function because sometimes the comm board at the back of the printer gets scrambled.  This clears the board and re-establishes communication.  If after that you still have the error...then either your printer main board is bad, the comm board at the back of the tray is bad, the top box net plex board is bad, your mother board is bad, if you have a green battery on your main board it is failing, or finally your main computer board is bad.  To figure out which, start at the top and trade out parts with known good ones.  A couple hours later you have your answer.

David the problem with your idea is, only the first error is displayed on the VFD, and I'm guessing it starts clearing the last error first. (VFD never changes until the last one is cleared)

Foster I didn't know that these machines are like rocket science and for different errors we must just open and close the door a certain number of times. I didn't realize I would harm the machine if I opened the door to many times.

Why don't we use Jim's example above. Two open and close should clear a printer error, will do the third one to make sure. If that doesn't work tear the machine apart.  Two hours later he remembers DAMN I bumped #3 reel ( better yet he didn't know he bumped it ) when working on the printer and most likely got a reel tilt error, if he had only opened and closed the latch one more time he wouldn't have had to do all this Bull S**T

The supprising part is I said 4 or 5 times, maybe I should have said 6 or 8 times.  NO I have never seen that many errors stacked. But if I ever do I will make DAMN sure they are all cleared before I get a clear or key chip out.

Bad design, IGT. :60-   The VFD should display the current error (top of the stack and uncleared), and should then update the display as each error is cleared (door open & close).

How bout a full clear and key?  Ok, kidding, kidding.  LOL!

just had basically the same issue on one of my tito machines and was getting many printer errors. i had to press the door switch about 15 times to finally get it cleared and is back to normal

Second picture of your post .. looks like the paper is in backwards unless there is a second set of the black alignment marks that went into the printer first.

That's a good catch Ken...stack of paper is upside down and needs to be rotated 180 degrees.  Black square mark to the side should always feed like you see in the pic below.

Isn't the pad just upside down?

Maybe the machine needs to be flipped over?  :5-
