Title: Bad hopper/harness? Post by: danw on June 25, 2011, 03:51:28 AM When I got my I Game, it had coin equipment installed in it, but the entry was plated off and it was set to coinless. I removed the plate and filled the hopper with quarters, made some adjustments to the fill sensor, etc, and have it up and running (partially). Every now and then it tells me there was an extra coin paid, and if I cash out, sometimes I get a false coin jam. Moving the hopper a little fixes the problem. I am quite sure that the harness is bad on either the machine or the hopper. Before I start just buying parts, I was wondering if anyone else has seen this and has an easier fix for it. I noticed on the hopper harness, one pin sticks out about 1/4 an inch longer than the other pins. I didn't know if that was normal or a problem. The pin is very tight, so I dont think it wiggled its way out there. I really dont feel like buying parts I dont need, so any help would be greatly appreciated...
Title: Re: Bad hopper/harness? Post by: Firebird on June 26, 2011, 01:39:41 AM sounds to me like the hopper brake spring might be missing, this would cause false coin jam errors and hopper overpays. On the back of the hopper motor is a little lever that runs across the motor underneath it, it has a small hole in it for a spring, right above it is another small hole for the other side of the spring. Look to see if this spring is there, replace if not there.

Post by: ChizzleMonkey on September 26, 2011, 11:16:12 AM If the hopper brake spring is still there, the hopper might need a good cleaning/lubing of the whole brake assembly. Might as well take that whole hopper apart and give it a good cleaning/lube job. Adjusting the brake spring for more or less tension might fix that as well.
Title: Re: Bad hopper/harness? Post by: Buzz on September 26, 2011, 11:47:25 AM I hate to tell you folks this, but I have never seen a brake or brake spring on a Game King/I Game/S 2000 hopper.
I have to ask, is moving the hopper clearing the error, or just opening and closing the door clearing the error ?? Next time you get the error just lift the door latch and lower it, see if it clears.
