We have a lot of work to do on this. Someday it will be complete.
Rear 1/4 panels will also be replaced.

Wow! You've got your work cut out for you -- literally!  :30- :97- :97- :97-

Still, knowing your skills, I can't wait to see how it progresses.  :131- :89-

Are you doing it for yourself or for someone else?

Not for me. Someone else. Wish it was mine.
One thing upsets me is she doesn't want original color.
That will take away from value.
 She had it from new.

...
 She had it from new.

How did she ever let it get in that condition?

It didn't look that bad until we started pulling it apart. When you start taking apart that is when you find
all the old age & rust.
Compaired to a lot that age it is better then average.
People get these cars & think they look OK but this is what they look like under the things they don't see.

Looks like a jalopy now but I can't wait to see how this baby turns out!  :89-
Great stuff Fordsbs!  :131-

You'd die laughing if you ever saw my old 1988 Suburban after
I tried to do some body work on the back doors... :208-
It had spent too much time on Quebec, Canada's heavily winter-salted highways!!

Looked like a paper mache object..... :72-
Jeesh! I handed sanded the crap outta that old sucker and never painted it...
after awhile, the rust started to come THROUGH THE GRAY BODY FILLER!!! :97-

Bunker, What you should use is fiberglass resin with matting (like what is used on boats).
The moisture will not affect it like regular body fill.

Good body working tip Fordsbs!
I loved that old suburban.
I was able to lay down flat 4x8 sheets of plywood in the back,
on the floor between the fender-wells with the doors closed!
Those old suburbans were big!

Unfortunately I had to let it go after 13 years and nearly a half million miles!
You couldn't beat that thing but then in the summer of 2000, the gas prices shot up
and I went to the little subaru's....lol
