Title: help or opinions wanted
Post by: mark the spark on June 30, 2011, 03:10:58 PM
ok nearly fixed all the problems with this machine but the outstanding 1 is not paying the jackpot
1:all other wins are fine

2:have checked through the reel cards for continuity all ok

3:the green/white wire on the reel card goes to the hopper payout board but is actually not connected to anything on the reel card

4:the white/grey wire appears to be the wire from the reel card 1 jackpot but goes to the switch located behind the hopper board
any pointers or opinions on what the green /white wire should be doing would be greatly appreciated
the jackpot is 75 coins and the picture shows the board at the 75th payout

You mentioned that the white/grey wire goes to a switch behind the hopper board. This is complete shot in the dark, but could it be running through a hopper timeout circuit or possibly a key switch circuit intended for the casino? What does that switch do?

Did you try tracing the jackpot connection(s) from the reel 2 wiper card to the reel 3 wiper card and back into the machine? That might help you determine where the green/white wire belongs on the reel 1 card, if it's actually misplaced.

If I'm off base, please just disregard; my knowledge is limited.

Another WAG here. Your first picture is sort of blurry. But that green/white wire looks like there is part of a broken off wire coming off of the solder joint. I see some of the other connections have 2 wires.

the reel wiper board you have pictured obviously has been modified - the wire you refer to has no use as it does not link to any of the wiper positions -  by jackpot not paying?  lf that wire is in fact the jackpot wire - you need to connect that to the wiper position for jackpot - not sure why they removed the wire??   unless they wanted to handpay?

thanks for your replies i should say that this is a british machine which means its been chopped about
the reel wiper board looks like an etched replacement when i worked at marconi`s we sometimes used to make prototype boards this way
the top two wires on the board are for the change machine the first one gives 10 coins the second 25 coins the second is linked to the 25 coin payout on the
bottom of board ,last wire
i`ve posted two new (bit blurry ) photos
1st shows the wires on the reel card the first left at the top white/grey wire is the jackpot wire infact its the red/black that is in from reel 2 this is then linked to
the white/grey which goes then to the hopper i think this is the reset switch (someone will correct me)  see photo 2
what i could not figure out at the moment is which contact the 75 coin would have been on the board the only 1 left seems to be where the green wire is ?

just a thank you to all who replied
it was foxslots reply that made me think as this machine had a bell in it.
i e-mailed the guy i bought this from and asked him if it ever payed the jackpot or wether the bell just rang.
he couldn`t remember but he seemed to think that it was the bell ringing
so have configured it this way and now when the jackpot hits the bell rings!!!!!
now anyone know where  i can get a nice "jackpot paid by attendant" sign
