Title: S2000 (?) with leaky battery - clear needed after replacing? Post by: modessitt on June 30, 2011, 04:26:26 PM Had a lady drop off a board that I believe is an S2000. The Version Chip says V8008XVO. The GME chips say SG000093. The Base Chip says SB000330.
Anyway, the green battery is leaking, and I believe the yellow lithium is dead. I'll be replacing them, but I don't know if these need CLEAR or SET chips like the S+'s usually do. Nor do I know the reset procedure if there is one. Anyone have an idea? Title: Re: S2000 (?) with leaky battery - clear needed after replacing? Post by: Foster on June 30, 2011, 10:12:47 PM No need to replace the green battery if it is a 50x series board, just remove it and clean up the mess and if needed repair any thing damaged.
you must replace it if the board states it is a S2000 enhanced board. The board will loose RAM data and will throw up a RAM error when placed back in the machine it came from, last saved information will be read from the EEPROM on the motherboard when the tilts are cleared with the attendant button and jackpot reset key. Post by: modessitt on July 01, 2011, 01:58:57 AM So I guess the big question - how will I know if it is an S2000 enhanced or a 50x? The game wasn't brought in, and I wasn't there to talk to the lady when she brought it in, but of course it's my job to fix it and tell her how to reset it herself when she picks it back up. Is there any documentation on resetting it, or is it as simple as putting it in, turning it on, turning the key and shutting the door?
Title: Re: S2000 (?) with leaky battery - clear needed after replacing? Post by: Foster on July 01, 2011, 02:46:52 AM First Picture 50x board (mine is a 504b with a Multi Media Lite 2 board on it)
The part number label is in the upper left corner (covered by the MMLB2) Second picture 1270 S2000 enhanced which is printed on board near in the lower left corner I have the legacy adapter off the board. it plugs into the 2 black connectors that are in center and oriented vertically in the picture. To fix the tilts or errors power on leave the door open and have jackpot reset key in the key switch once the machine gets to a certain point in its system and memory tests the errors will occur and the thing will make a high low tone (it is very loud) turn the jackpot reset key it will show another message have them note each one then turn jackpot key they will need to turn the key a few times eventually the display will read press the attendant/test button that is the little switch that is on mpu near the LED's (press it for at least 3 seconds) then they close the main door. After it clears the first tilt or error it may come up with another one depending on what the tilt or error is they may have to repeat the above steps (closure M is not a tilt or error - just means the main door was closed no need to worry about that one) Eventually if there is nothing wrong with the configuration or other problem the reels will spin up to the last game it has stored in the EEPROM (on the motherboard) or to a non winning combination where the ends of the strips are on the reels this known as physical stop number 1 for each reel (some themes will place a symbol on the payline if 3 blanks are a winning combo for that theme. Title: Re: S2000 (?) with leaky battery - clear needed after replacing? Post by: modessitt on July 03, 2011, 04:04:20 PM Thanks. Mine looks like the top picture, with the yellow battery in the corner and the green battery below. I'll pull the green battery, clean it up, replace the yellow, then follow your instructions...
