Post by: ateballing on July 03, 2011, 07:27:08 AM
What is a set015 chip for? Is it a ram clear or a set chip/ aLSO WHAT IS THE SET CHIP # FOR "S" NOT "S+" slots? Will a set026 chip work for sp831 and sp1271? Thanks for any help you can give me.

It's a set chip. It typically used to enable the BV on most if not all SP chips. However some SP chips require specific set chips to enable other functions usually dealing with EFT, prgressive, etc.

You don't need a set chip chip for a S Machine.  "No BV"    If I remember correctly you use a Clear 1234 with a S Machine.

Buzz, did you ever even need the clear for your S? :128-  It's probably not a bad idea for him to have one handy, but if he's not interested in clearing out the bookkeeping records, will he ever need it? :103-

I wasn't needing it for my "S". I am going to start tinkering around with a few "s+" slots and thought there might be a chip that covered all the S+ machines.

Buzz, my short-term memory is worse than yours. I don't remember whether we cleared it or not.

Ateballing, the SET026 will enable the DBV and set the denomination for most of the common S+ SP (game) chips, including the older and newer chips. However, sometimes you'll need specific SET chips for particular SP chips or to access more extensive setup options.

Some examples: If you want to set up internal or external progressives with a newer chip like the SP1271, you'll need a SET090, and if you use the SP1137 that provides both tokenization and Euro "Montana" style credits, you'll have to have a SET086, even just to enable the dbv.
