Title: Problem re-programming IDX X-10 Xeptor in Bally Proslot 6000
Post by: websherpa on December 26, 2008, 11:46:53 PM
I have a IDX X-10 Xeptor, Smart Multi-Coin Acceptor in a Bally Proslot 6000 (Blazing 7's) and want to change the coin programming to accept tokens as well as quarters (which is is currently accepting).  I have the manual and tried the re-programming technique but it didn't work.  And the LEDs don't light so there is no feed back.  I noticed that the X-10 plugs into a Bally daughterboard.

Is there anything special that I have to do that I am missing to reprogram this unit?  Or is it defective?

Thanks in advance!

If the lights don't work as described it is locked, if it is from Ontario Lottery is is locked default, you either need to send to IDX for them to unlock or get a key (about $150 I Think) they only charged 5 or 10 bucks to unlock last time I sent in

Yes, I believe it originally came from an Ontario casino. Oddly it is having trouble with some Canadian quarters which is why I need to adjust it (and/or I'd like to switch to tokens).  I may just purchase a different coin acceptor, but I'll see about getting it unlocked.  Thank you for the help!

Would it be possible for me to unlock or erase its memory to reprogram using the serial interface and say hyperterminal?

I have some unlocked ones as well as cc16d comparitors and I'm in Brampton.  If your LED isn't working then you may be better off changing it.

Thanks,
