Title: Bally V2337 Video Poker machine help needed..
Post by: Amachanic on July 13, 2011, 12:02:40 AM
Well I have a Bally V2000 Jokers Wild Poker Machine I need some advice on.. First time I powered it up I received a low battery message, but the battery had 3.6v. I remover the 3 board tray and cleaned all the contacts and the machine powered on and did a ram check of the eproms... Cool, it works  :3-, I put one coin in and played one hand, no problem until I went to play it the second time,  :8-. Now the machine is giving me a message on screen of inappropriate coin, extra coin  :103-. I have tried the reset button on the hopper and the second board to clear it, but all it does is go through the boot up eprom check then back to this screen... The other thing I noticed is that when you push any button on the front door, the machine makes a BOING sound? I don't know if I need a clear chip, or if it's just bad connections  :103-  :99-

Read 92 times and nobody has given the guy any help........LOL

I'm new to this site but I will see if I can help you out (if you haven't thrown it out the window or fixed it yourself) What I did when something like that happened to me was pull the boards out so you can see the dip switches (Turn off the machine) flip dip 6 and push it back in. Turn it on and let it cycle... if it runs great but if not turn it back off flip number 6 back and put your boards back.....turn it on and see if that helps.

Just for fun I would try pulling the battery out for 30 seconds or so and then put it back in and try. If that doesn't work, I'd comb through every nook and cranny and check connectors and PC board contacts to make sure they're properly seated. What year was this made?

Well so far I have pulled the 3 board main stack and checked and cleaned the plugs and ribbon cables that connect each board. I have pulled and reseated all the EPROMs and I did unplug the battery to try to clear the message but no luck. That's why it got put away for a while. This machine is from the mid to late 1980"s. What I need to do it check all the doors plugs and connection next. I've just had too many other project to get back to it.

Gary

I have (in addition to my recent IGT) a Bally V2000 Video Twentyone...another Craigslist find. It works great but I need to get it out of my garage.
I assume you have manuals for yours?
