Title: Tripler reel chip 8174 Post by: Jpa20065 on July 22, 2011, 10:03:19 PM I presently have a S+ machine with a SP731 game chip. Have been changing games , 2 coin, with other games using only the reel chips and have not had any problems.
I recently purchased a Triple dollar, 2 coin, which shows as a type 0. I went to install today and discovered that the reel chip is a 8174 and am getting code 68, bad data. The game chip which came with it is SP654, type 23, which I understand is a nudge, I do not want to have to deal with changing my bill validator. 1. If I change the game chip, will I have to reset the bill validator? 2. Would it just be easier to get a compatible reel chip that works with my existing SP731 game chip.? 2. Would it be a better / fun game with the nudge chip? Never saw this game as a nudge game! With out Mystery action a type 0 will work but you need a different reel chip. What glass kit do you have??? Does it say "Mystery Action" on the glass? It is a fun game and worth getting a set chip that you will need at some time anyway. PM Sent! :88-
