Title: What spares should a new owner have? Post by: jbshocks on July 25, 2011, 11:20:24 PM Some may have seen a post about my new S model (not s+) that uses apparently s+ style hopper. If I plan to own the machine for a long time what spare parts should I obtain for it. I am planning to order parts to do a nickel conversion anyway so I may as well get anything likely to cause me trouble in the future.

A spare MPU Some bulb sockets (and bulbs) A coin optics board. Maybe a coin comparitor. But...your best bet may be to scour craigslist and see if you can find a complete unit really cheap. I just bought a complete S+ this past weekend just for spare parts. Of course the last time I did that, I ended up fixing the machine up and keeping it too. :25- This time I gutted it before I got the urge. :72- Title: Re: What spares should a new owner have? I'd also consider getting some replacement buttons because the plastic gets brittle and they can end up breaking when you change the bulbs.
Make sure you keep the quarter shelf and pin wheels, and especially the quarter coin head, because they're already becoming scarce (especially the coin head) and most home slot owners want quarter machines. You'll end up replacing them when you sell the machine. |
