Title: Extra bet button, does it need a HUB too? Post by: jstraa on July 26, 2011, 06:51:21 PM I'm installing an Extra Bet Button panel. The EBB connects to a board and that board
connects to a hub, that one to the mainboard. Does anyone know if the HUB is mandatory? Or is it possible to connect the EBB RJ 45 to the mainboard. (maybe with an UTP cross cable?) Do all connections use normal RJ 45 Network cables? Any help / directions are welcome, Jeroen Title: Re: Extra bet button, does it need a HUB too? Post by: hd474 on June 17, 2012, 08:57:50 AM Bump..
same question here. Direct connection to the mainboard with a standard Cat5 cable does not work. I also tried to use a standard ethernet swich (feature switch to the ethernet switch, ethernet switch to mainboard), no success either. Anybody an idea? Best of luck to you, and please post whatever you find out as it may help someone else here in the future.
Edited to add: Their domain doesn't appear to be working (right now for me, at least) -- try this to directly access their forum if the above link doesn't work: http://forums.delphiforums.com/slottech Title: Re: Extra bet button, does it need a HUB too? I'm trying to use the "Feature Button" of my BB with mechanical reel, which does not have the unit shown in the first thread. I assume it gets the 5V from the hub (?) behind the reel glass. So if I use the button assy in my BB Video with direct connection to the Motherbord will not get the 5V. Makes sense! I will check this in the next days. Thanks! The AUX connectors on the backplane has 24V, 12V and 5V. The bottom row of pins is a common ground, top pins have the power. Use a voltmeter to confirm which one has 5V. Title: Re: Extra bet button, does it need a HUB too? Post by: hd474 on September 24, 2012, 05:24:30 PM I tried it today and it works!
I took the 5 Volts from the "Aux Power 2" Connector on the backplane. 5V is on the right side of the connector. The red wire (top right cavity) is 5V+, the black wire (lower right cavity) is ground. (Please verify with a Voltmeter!) On the Universal Animator Board, the 5V goes to the 2 way connector, 5v+ is the cavity closer to the flat ribbon cable, the other one is ground. The CAT5 cable must be connected to the Universal Animator Board and to "J3" on the backplane. The circulating LEDs are working, the normal Button illumination not (yet). I think I'm missing 12V here, but I've to check it. Main thing is the button works! Thanks again to "indesign" for the help! K+ |
