The blue card is the sound card and I don't think it is necessary for the slot to work. Here is the only one that I have found with info and parts for these machines. http://www.hms-electronics.com/slot_machines/summit%20systems%20slot%20machine%20parts.htm (http://www.hms-electronics.com/slot_machines/summit%20systems%20slot%20machine%20parts.htm) I parted out mine and I still have the back plane and the detector back plane if you need them. Paul I just traded all the Bally Summit parts I had for a cool home made tester for working on the Bally reel reader boards.. It tests both the 5v and 50v readers, makes repairing them so much easier... Title: Re: Bally 1090 missing a blue board? Post by: StatFreak on August 02, 2011, 09:52:45 AM My 2¢ recommendation, FWIW, it to RUN as fast as you can away from that Summit piece of crap and look for a non-doctored Bally EM.
Of course, my experience on this board has taught me that once someone decides they want something, no advice in the world will deter them. Slotsteve, I agree with both of your posts completely. :89- Stat :31- Title: Re: Bally 1090 missing a blue board? Post by: quasimodem on August 02, 2011, 10:42:34 AM I am not committed to anything, i have very little experience with E / EM slots. and this one was listed as 'only missing 1 board' for a very good price, so i was interested. From what everyone here says, the missing board is not critical so it's a non working slot.
and to top that off, it's a miserable modded piece of crap. so i will pass. Thanks to everyone for your input. QM Title: Re: Bally 1090 missing a blue board? Post by: StatFreak on August 02, 2011, 11:09:31 AM :133-
There are some very nice Bally EMs out there. Keep looking. You might also consider contacting Foxsslots (member here) once he gets his business up and running again. He's just finished moving, so it might be a while before he's ready to sell machines. Title: Re: Bally 1090 missing a blue board? [/quote QM Where just trying to warn you up front that these Bally Summits are good usually for two things. Spare parts to others, that's what I did when I ended up with one, or scrap metal, did that with the rest of it. Like Stat said find a nice Bally EM or E series machine. If you live up near Michigan I always has some from needing repair to complete machines for sale. So take your time and find a machine you will be happy with.. Thanks to everyone for your input. QM The blue card is an option and not required. My guess is that the slot controller (Yellow Handle) is defective. You can purchase a replacement for $178.50 from HMS-Electronics and there is the chance that he can repair the one that is sitting in the machine. I have been looking for the schematics for this board and the Interface board and have had no luck thus far. I may have to see if I can draw one up by following the traces on the board. Title: Re: Bally 1090 missing a blue board? Post by: slotsteve on August 08, 2011, 06:52:15 PM summit isn.t worth putting that kinda of $$ into buy a old em bally or a working igt
