Title: IGT S+ Credit/Cash Out
Post by: baldone47 on August 05, 2011, 03:26:39 PM
Have a IGT S+ Haywire 3 coin.  Tried to change from credit to cash out.  Changed setup in winner paid window to 50.  Tried to change 0 to 1 or 2 with no luck.  Pressing spin reels button or pulling handle will not change 0.  I have credits now and wish to change payout to cash when I desire.  Help

"50"  or "5   0"?  They are both valid options, and completely different. Even if you have the right one, you can't change it if you have credits on the machine.

If you have credits and want to cash out, all you do is press the cash/credit button while you're playing, just like you would in a casino. This setting doesn't need to be changed to do that.

Thanks for the quick reply.  To restate my question, I want the default payout to be cash instead of credit.  I would like to see coins dropping on a payout instead of credit.  Thanks

Right. But you can not change the default option while there are credits on the machine. You either have to play them all off, or cash out first.

Next, is getting to the right option. You open the door and press the self test button just a few times until you get 5_x (x=0, 1, or 2) in the winner paid window (0 in coins played). If there are no credits, then you can press the spin button (it will be lit) to change the x to what you want.

Exactly.

In addition, since we don't know what SP chip you have, the first setup option you see might be "2   n" (n=0, or 1) instead of "5  n", in which case you will need to stop pressing the white test button and turn the jackpot reset key once to get to option "5  n", which will be the second option in the setup sub-menu.

Also, once you change it, you will need to turn the jackpot key at least once to advance to the next menu item, and probably should also then press the white test button until you fully exit the menus. This isn't always necessary, but sometimes the settings don't take if you fail to do this.

Option 50 is the sound check in the main menu. If you reach that, you've gone too far in the test menu and should start over. (Some SP chips allow the user to go back, but I'm not going to get into that.)

Again:
...you can't change it if you have credits on the machine.

Yep, I keep forgetting that, because I don't use anything over a SP1048 and the 5_x is the first option.

Thanks to all who replied.  The option 2 and then turning the reset key 2 times to 5 did the trick.  What a great site.  Thanks again

P.S. What did you see in the window after turning the key once? :128-

After turning the key once I report a 3 in the win meter and a 3 in the credit meter.  I turned the key once more for a 5 in win meter and 0 in the credit meter.  I changed the 0 to a 1 to correct my problem.  Thanks again.

That means you have a 16MHz board (or at least an SP chip for a 16MHz board. :96-)  Setting 3 is your volume setting. It should range from  1 to 9, with 9 being the loudest setting.

The 10Mhz boards have a blue physical volume knob on the top edge of the board (when in the machine), which your board won't have.

I always thought that dial was for adjusting the payout percentage, no?   :279-

IT IS!! After all, "Dial-Guy" said so in his video... :5- :30-  ...and if it's on EweToob, it must be true.  :96- :274- Besides, what's the matter with you? Don't you know that LOUDER machines pay better? :127-  :200-

<ADD> I mean, hey! How often do you hear a quiet machine paying out when you walk through a casino? :203-

Wait, I thought the casinos sent a signal to the machine if it's paying too much.  :5- :5- :5-  Unless of course they have VERY small people turning the dial on demand from the casino boss.

I heard that they used to use fairies who were between gigs of productions of Peter Pan, but that OSHA put a stop to it after several of them were zapped by the higher voltages near the PS and more were tragically spun to death by the stepper motors while sitting on the reel decks during their lunch breaks.

Slot managers also reportedly had endless headaches with the slots when fairies got drunk consuming the booze poured down the coin chutes by customers and sabotaged the machines.

That's a true story.
