How can you tell if a PE+ game will work with a superboard? Is it only games with the extra Data chip or will others work as well? Any advice greatly appreciated. I had some PE+ machines and learned a lot about them. I have since graduated to Game Kings and Gamemakers. I'm still saving up to get a WMS 550.
But, as I remember, yes, there should be 28 pins that go into the data socket. Does it look like the pin broke off? I've attached a list that Cactusjack made a few years ago that lists the games and chips for the wingboard. Use a XP000017 program chip, Cap and CG 2298's. Basically, most PE+ games that use a DATA chip can be used with the wingboard, with some exceptions. Title: Re: What works with a superboard? Curiosity got me going so pulled out the board from my functioning PE+ with a daughter board and it is Not missing that pin. And off course now when I try to restart the game I get a CMOS error, try to clear, goes to verify memory and shows Call Attendant. Off I go to call attendant. ........ Just to add more info to the listed games.txt file, also using a XMP000017 & X2298 cap but with CG2426 character gen chips and games X000002P X000158P X000516P X002029P X002275P Now to get back on track, knagl, did you happen to also get your daughter board from April ? Yes, I got the daughterboard (wingboard) from April. I contacted her about exchanging it and she said that she has one left. The board I got is probably repairable, but I don't have any of those sockets, nor am I that handy with a soldering iron. I would guess that yes, a pin broke off. A friend told me that he thought I would need to use a "XMPnnnnn" chip in the PROGRAM slot (where nnnnn is a number), but you guys are saying that XP000017 is the way to go? Are there other chips that also offer wingboard capability, or is that 17 the only (and correct) chip to use? Thanks in advance. :3- Title: Re: What works with a superboard? knagl, did she happen to verify if the 1 board she has is Not missing the 1 pin? I just wonder if MAYBE this was some kind of IGT fix for an issue since you and I seem to have a daughterboard in the same condition. That or I'm just gett'in my hopes up not to have to monkey around with soldering on another socket. FWIW, the missing pin on mine is at pin loc #15 of the Data Eprom connection, very bottom right side corner, looking from the top of the board its underneath. Title: Re: What works with a superboard? I don't have the board in front of me -- I'll have to look at it and maybe take a picture of it tonight or tomorrow. The pin it's missing is indeed on the corner of the socket where it would plug into the superboard -- I'm not positive as to which corner at the moment. ...and no, I haven't heard from her yet to verify that the other board she has is intact or not. I know she's dealing with some bigger issues right now, so her turn-around time on e-mails and shipping and the like has slowed down. Title: Re: What works with a superboard? Does is just say Game 1, Game 2 etc or how else would it get the game descriptions?

Maybe I'm just think'n too hard (or not enough :5- ) I think PSRs existed at some point, and there may be PAR sheets for the PE+ video slots (but unlikely for poker games as they don't have reels -- "Paytable And Reel"). That said, it's possible to figure out payback percentages for any video poker game based on the paytable displayed on the screen. Alas, that's the maximum percentage, obtainable only with perfect play. Since the average player does not play computer-perfect, the actual payback percentage would be less (greater casino hold). I think those are the numbers displayed in the poker section of the bible (http://www.newlifegames.net/igtbible/IGT%20Poker/Game%20Library%20-%20PE-Plus.htm) in each game where it shows the optimum (perfect play) percentage, and the realistic casino-floor percentage. Just a guess on that part, but it makes sense. Yes, the payback percentage is bigger when the maximum coins are played as there's a bonus on the Royal Flush (much like the top award on many slot themes has a bonus for playing max coins). It looks like someone uploaded a PSR for the PE+ in the "Submit a new File" section (blue navigation under the vendor ads at the top of the page) -- look for XP000008.doc. That'll at least give you a flavor of what one would look like for PE+ poker games. Title: Re: What works with a superboard? Below are some screenshots of it emulating. I am using CG2298 like some have mentioned in the past, but note the top area of the select menu has garbled graphics. Could those of you that said you use this CG confirm that your select menu is garbled too, or maybe I'm not emulating something right either.
I'll be posting much more technical details when I have things ready. If anyone can answer my question above it would be appreciated. I was only accounting for a 27c256, when that particular graphics chipset is 27c512. So the program didn't find the rest of the graphics. I think thats where the E16/E17 jumper comes in.

It seems the larger graphic chips toggle a bit on Port3 when accessing the higher banks. So now everything is working 100% (assuming the menu graphic is right). Post by: knagl on January 07, 2009, 11:50:45 PM I agree that it shouldn't have the logos in it, but what I'm saying is that the background of where it says "Multi Poker" should be the same color red, and the font that says, "Multi Poker" should be bright yellow -- not that color that it is now. The one on the right looks correct -- the one on the left does not, based on what I've seen in the casino.
