Title: LED Bulb Wrapup
Post by: jdkmunch on August 20, 2011, 11:39:54 AM
Hi everyone -   I need to know (again) the LED bulbs I need for my Bluebird and Bally 6000

I'm so mad  -  I bought them a while ago and misplaced the bag of spares  :25-

One thing -  on the BB the brightness of the replacement seems very dim compared the I-Game buttons.  Is this typical ?

I'd like to get them from BCSPinball.com

I found my old thread on the bulbs -  I knew I asked the question but the site now is so large it's hard to remember what topic I used.    Anyway I knew was talking about "super white" so that search helped me find it.

FYI, it might be a browser issue. It won't work with IE8  for me,m but works with my iPad and Safari.

It doesn't work in FF or IE for me either, and clicking on "Account" or "Sign In" doesn't work.
Somebody needs to get through to that guy. Lots of us don't have iPads and I'm not loading Safari to go to one site. :60-

I placed three orders

superbrightleds.com   (these guys don't thane the 86 6V bulbs for bally only the 73 12V bulbs for IGT)
bcspinball.com
cointaker.com

all had about the same price -  I'll let you know which site delivers the fastest -   I think BCS has fallen to second priority for the owner

With IE8 you can get around the account creation problem by going here, but no luck on logging back in.

Sent a message via the web site and got this

Yes, I have been working with a web developer to fix it. It does work with earlier versions of FF but the latest versions break that page for some reason. Works with webos 2.1 also but not 3.02 webos

I think he needs a new web developer.  :96-

You guys may find this hard to believe - but the reason I ordered the bulbs from 3 places is because
When a bulb burns out on one of my machines - I can't play it.  My OCD kicks in an all I think about is the burnt out bulb.     When a light goes out so does the machine until the lamp is replaced.

I'm the same way about a lot of this stuff. Often it's something that is not even used or important (like a slightly worn hopper agitator), but it will bug the heck out of me until I get it fixed. Then even after fixing it, I may not even turn the game on again for a month.  :182-

I think as avid slot restorers and collectors, we tend to put very "low-mileage" on these machines
after we know that they've been on constantly for 24/7 for years!
Basically, we baby them like antique showroom cars.... :89-

Stayout - your exactly right -  It's a perfect analogy

My basement floor has dust bunnies but the slots are dust free  -  and not one fingerprint -  even on the touch screen LCD screens.    Every night before I go to sleep they are cleaned.

I need  :99-

That just might work Poppo!  :208-

I think I'm going to Jo Ann's Fabric's and get some material
and give my mother something to do... :79-
She loves to sew!  :71-

If she makes the covers large enough you can stand inside them when you play – sort of like a mini clean room. :5- :30-  :72- :72-
Have potential players scrub up, take their shoes off and put on masks before entering. :127- :200- :200-
 :208- :208- :208-

<ADD> I guess my cat won't be allowed to sit on a stool and rub the machine for luck. :97- :97-  For those who have seen my posted cat pictures, it's the gold short-haired one. He always comes into the room when I'm playing and jumps up onto a stool to keep me company. When I change machines I just pick up the stool and carry it to the next slot while he sits on it.

Slave to the Cat, just the way they want you to be. You are victim to their world domination plan! :72- :97-

CH :95-

P.S. I DO like cats before anyone sicks the SPCA on me. I do like dogs more though! :281- :288- :273- :61- (Stat cover their eyes when this post is on the screen, I do not want to be a scratching post on my next visit!  :31- :107- )

I like dogs, too, although I must admit that I prefer big dogs to little ones. :61-  (No offense to little dog owners.)

The short hair spent time in a menagerie (aka a collection of rescue animals) so he's fine with dogs. The fluffy "stuffed" one started out as a semi-feral neighborhood cat, so he's also at least "familiar" with dogs. lolol.  :72- :72- :72-

Besides, there's a chihuahua and a something (haven't seen it, but a terrier I think) on one side of me and a rottweiler on the other, so they're used to the barking. :5- :61- :30-

And I'm stuck with a DAT
Definitely NOT a Dog, but thinks he's a CAT.
Too independent to be a dog and only wants you around when he want's you to feed him.
I swear if he had thumbs and could operate a can opener, I would never see him again.

OK, we have now officially hijacked this thread.

Well, if yours is a DAT then mine are COGs.  :96- :208- :208- :208-

My cats follow me around the house most of the time. The fluffy one is actually a specific breed called a Ragdoll, and he has all of the Ragdoll's characteristics, which include wanting lots of attention and lovin', and being really vocal about it. :47-  I've trained him not to meow as much. (By the way, he's lying on my feet as I type.)

Quote
The Ragdoll is a cat breed with blue eyes and a distinct colorpoint coat. It is a large and muscular semi-longhair* cat with a soft and silky coat Developed by American breeder Ann Baker, it is best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature. The name "Ragdoll" is derived from the tendency of individuals from the original breeding stock to go limp and relaxed when picked up.

*  Stat Note: If this is what they call semi-longhair, I'd hate to see a longhair!  :97-

While he does sort of try to "go limp" when picked up, he's so fat and pudgy that it feels like picking up a 20lb dog rather than a cat. :61- :31-  :200- (Okay, he was only 18.5lbs the last time I checked.  :72- :72- :72- )

Stat :31-

<ADD> Oh, and he licks. Give him a finger and he'll lick it –  like I said, I COG. :96-
