Title: PROBLEM ON ARISTOCRAT MKV MACHINE
Post by: JonesK on August 24, 2011, 03:47:23 AM
I would appreciate any help regarding my Aristocrat MKV machine which is running the Cleopatra game. The machine worked fine before but recently it came up and stuck to the following message:

CPU check OK
DRAM error
EPROM checksum OK
DRAM Emmulator found
2khz Timer OK
Startup tests failed. Machine locked!

It keeps going to this message every time it starts. Do I need set chips to get it to work? Does anyone out there have these set chips for sale? Or Is it possible to solve this error without the set chips? :103-

JonesK, kenya

1 or more DRAM chips has failed.

Sorry but the only way you can repair it is to get a new MKV main board.

check the capacitors CD36, CD37 and CD38, may be that some of them are crossed and you are throwing the error, if you are getting one crossover remove it and test.

Most of the time if you pull the main board out and spray cleaner on the the back board connections and replace the main board back in it will sort it self out . Dry joint. Common fault.
