Title: Help with 4slot Neo Post by: gonemad on September 05, 2011, 01:07:25 PM Here is a board from hell. When I got this board it would sometimes work. But most would boot to the green screen. I replaced the crystal and it would work perfectly for a day. Then start booting to the green screen again. I tested the crystal and replaced it again. It worked great all day yesterday. It would boot every time with no problem and tested a few carts in it. I let it sit overnight and this morning I went to turn it on, whammo, green screen again and then calender error. Could there be something burning out the crystal or another matter to look at here? I really thought I had solved the problem this time. :103-

That trace goes from the clock/calendar chip over to the battery backup circuit and it's common to have problems with that trace when the battery starts leaking and eating things.

OK, I will check this. Just on a side note. I did remove the batteries from both of these boards. Just as some preventative measure.Title: Re: Help with 4slot Neo Post by: gonemad on September 06, 2011, 08:50:36 PM I just checked power to this chip. On both my 4 slot boards, I am getting exactly 5v between pin 7 and 14.
