Title: Serial Cord for a WBA acceptor
Post by: SLOTMAN on September 13, 2011, 09:18:33 PM
I would like to sniff the traffic that some of JCM's test and diagnostic software sends to the acceptors for tests.  I have a RS232 tap that I would also like to monitor the traffic and see what hex or binary code is transmitted.  I am trying to do this on Unidesa machines.

My question is: What is special about JCM's adapter other than it injects 12V on to the cable?  I am looking at the pin out configuration for the unidesa machine and it looks pretty straight forward

TXD1     Pin3
RXD1     Pin2
GND      Pin5
12out    Pin7
DTR1     Pin4

This seems to be a simple DTE/DCE but I cant get it to communicate.  The Unidesa harness allows it to be hooked to a power supply so the BV is powered up.

Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
