Title: OH GOODY! It's The Munsters! (Photos and Video!!!)
Post by: Yoeddy1 on September 22, 2011, 11:18:58 PM
Hey all,

It's close to October and my kids have been reminding me that we need to dig up "The Mummy" for Halloween.  My boys both like Halloween almost as much as Christmas and my youngest always reminds me that if I ever sell The Mummy, he'll run away from home.  Yes, he's serious about his Mummy slot machine.   :97-  For the past several months I've been sniffing around for a Munsters kit, but little did I know, these kits are near impossible to find, unless one wants to piece it together over time.  I attempted that route and then eventually gave up...timing just wasn't there for me.  Anyway, while doing so, I was constantly pulling up photos and videos and in doing so, my kids were immediately drawn to the sound, the Herman Munster "wild" symbol, spooky lights that shined through the strips, and of course the green glass.  I knew I was cornered with no way out unless I found one of these things!

Finally, after several months of searching, David (Slotmaster) contacted me and hooked me up with a full original 2CM kit just in time for Halloween.  I contacted Frank at Casino Glass in Las Vegas for the long reel glass.  I just got it in the mail today and set it up.  My wife and kids haven't even given me a turn yet!  The graphics and sounds are great, and I thought I was going to fall out of my chair laughing when I heard the cashout sound.   :97-

Anyway, below are some photos and a video of the game in action!   :3-

...

I've heard that it's really rare on this machine – like seeing Elvis on a Wms Pig. :5- :25-

The theme music definitely makes the game. Enjoy your prize. :3- :3-

:205- i dont even have a machine but i would like to have this one if i was to get an s2000  :89-

now that he has the software couldn't he send it to one of the vendors for copying?  i dont know sh!t about that but i have read that it is done!  the only hard to get items would probably be the glass pieces.  even the reel strips could be copied with the right equipment like Rick had right?  :103-

i personally like the IGame version better but that's just for the cool sounds in the bonuses.  :97-

:259- for the cool videos and game!!

Correct me if I'm wrong – and the volume is a bit low on my computer – but that doesn't sound like Fred Gwynne's voice saying "I'm rich, I'm rich," as taken from the show. It sounds like someone else recorded it. :103-

Enjoy the game, I had the kit for a few years now and wanted to install it in a machine but never found the time to do so.    Glad to see it pictured and looking perfect, no fade and very mint.

2CM is 7 symbol (80) x 2 Munsters (5x) symbols @ 25

80x25=2000

Ahh yes, it's easy to get mesmerized by the "wild" Herman Munster.  Actually, he could be the coolest symbol of all-time in my book.

 :105-  Great hit! :3- :3-    :136-

That's what I love about the 5x family of machines. They can have really long dry spells but when they pay, they PAY.  :89- :71-

1000:1 on a 180 coin 5-reel would be 180,000 credits. How many times has anyone posted a win that large?

A couple of things...anybody ever put a coat of carnauba wax on their strips?  These are not the traditional washable strips, but they are also not the traditional non-washable strips either.  Meaning, the symbols will not vanish if the are washed.  I have 3 sets of strips like this.  If you apply water to them, the clearcoat will appear milky.  I would not recommend wiping this type of strip with water or a cleaner as it will create a scuffed surface.  However, applying a paste carnauba wax to the strips in a circular motion, letting it dry, and buffing it off with an ultra soft cloth will really make them smooth and shine.  Of course your mileage may vary.  Test on a garbage strip if you're curious.  ;)

The second item, since the symbols are transparent, DEFINITELY use backlit reels with chrome light boxes instead of white light boxes.  The darker chrome color creates better contrast and enhances the "spookiness".

Anyway, just thought I'd share.  :)
