Title: Coin In Jam Post by: Trinidad on October 03, 2011, 11:24:15 AM Hi,
I have an IGT I Game slant top Ghost Island that gives me the coin in jam errror. I also have an identical machine with hoot loot in it that dosent. When I compared both the hoot loot, when setting it up allows me to disable the comparitor and the the ghost island dosent have the option. I saw a thread that was on this same topic but there were no directions on which wires to jumper to get the error away. Please help.....Ive been trying for almost two weeks Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: TZtech on October 03, 2011, 02:19:21 PM Hi
Please see this thread - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=14967.0. Still waiting for somebody to confirm. There is a thread with instruction for uprights and it does simply tie the A and B optic to ground as suspected so all that still needed is to find out where these terminate on the slant top connector. or the Coin Comparitor Bypass connections. At the moment, I have a couple of pictures that will show you guys where the wires go for the S2000 13 volt coin comparitor bypass plugs. I do not have such photos or pinouts onhand for the hopper bypass pinouts. I had those on my home computer which I lost due to a bad Boot Record and formatted over everything! :8- Anyways, pay close attention to the way these wires are jumped and the orientation of the connector housings so you get the pin outs right. I will look at the housing under microscope to give you guys the actual pin outs of these photos. Open the photos under a separate webpage and save them to view them larger if needed... >>> Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 03, 2011, 04:42:48 PM Here's another picture of the CC Bypass plug of one I made a couple of years ago for a friend...
I am now looking at the pin outs under microscope and will post my results in a few minutes... Just for more information really...the Molex connectors are 3-row/15-pin Molex housings for S2000's while the housings for S+'s are only 12-pins. Also, the S+ 24V CC's are pinned differently in order to bypass the coin comparitor. Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 03, 2011, 05:12:07 PM Okay,
I figured out the exact wire locations under microscope and I photo-shopped my own picture for this S2000 CC Bypass Plug for you guys. Make sure you set the machine for "Coinless" in the Options and you ought to be good to go! BTW I had a horrible "Coin Jam" error I couldn't get rid of a couple of weeks ago. The problem turned out to be a Line Bet reel display that had a burned out fuse IC component on the board. I bought a new Line Bet display board from Blueridge and the machine has worked perfect ever since! (Thanks again Blue! :131- :3- ) I don't know what if this can help you guys out or not. Can I see a picture of the machine or a better description of what game, boards and chips are installed in it? Click on photo to make larger if needed...>>> Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: TZtech on October 03, 2011, 07:59:35 PM Great Stuff - Thanks SB
Very nicely documented This is whats needed but for slantop machines where the entire Coin in assembly plugs into what looks the same as a hopper connector (I Believe the correct term is Beau Plug ?). Have attached the wiring diagram for slant and the pin numbering is the same as for upright just a different connector. So Jumpers from Pin1 (Gnd) to pin 6 (Coin A) and Pin1 (Gnd) to Pin 7 (Coin B) will clear up the problem. Starting at Right Front of Plug (as looking at game) is PIN 1 Connect PINS 2, 6 & 7 together, this is same pins as jumpered on Upright, I have been told the colors are Green to Red and Red to Green on harness in machine, but I don't have one easy to get to, pics show the 3 wires that need to be connected if using a Female plug over the mating Male plug in the machine, the 3 wire are the ones laying on the CF card in first pic Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: blueridgeslots on October 03, 2011, 08:21:54 PM Blurry but shows wires in holes better

Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: stayouttadabunker on October 03, 2011, 10:02:35 PM Cross-referencing the pin-outs between the upright S2000 schematic, mine and Jim's photo's
and with your S2000 Slant schematics will give you the exact pin outs for the Beau plug. I don't have the S2000 schematics for the coin comparator harness on-hand. I think you already have it figured out though... :72- Title: Re: Coin In Jam Post by: Jim on November 17, 2011, 02:15:56 AM well I doublechecked the wiring diagrams and looked at the schematics to see what was being accomplished by grounding pins 6 and 7, figure it couldn't hurt anything. so I did the smoke test.
it worked as it should have. no damage. so yes you can jumper a slant top, the whole slide in unit could be removed and the game will function.
