Post by: gposing on October 06, 2011, 01:48:51 AM
this is my first bally and new to working on slots.  everyone is talking about the battery.  do it just pull off of two metal tabs?  Can I pick one up at radio shack or is it special?  I tested it and only showing .2xx volts    Thanks Gary

Can you show a picture of your board where the battery is? Some of them have different battery holders on them. Mine had a round watch type battery holder put on the board since the batteries go dead so quickly in that Bally model.

Here is the picture.  Also, looks like battery has leaked on the board.  how do you clean it or just leave it?

Im not a Bally 5000 expert by any means but I had one long enough to know that they can be a pain sometimes. If the battery has leaked on the board bad enough, it can ruin the board. I would recommend switching the batter to a holder that allows the battery to be easily replaced so you'll have less issues down the road.

I had a standard 5000 though, the 5000+ may be different. Hopefully a bally expert will jump on here and be able to help you more. I'm just here to keep your post at the top so people will see it  :186-
