Where can I purchase a Dallas All Clear Chiip for a UV-1700 machine? I don't have a clue where to start looking.

Well I just checked at mouser.com and 511-M27C4001-10C eprom is no longer available and is obsolete. Any other suggestions where to get one?

The first link seems to have the right description but has no picture for me to validate it is the chip that fits into U51. The second link you posted is not the right chip to fit into U51 to clear the memory.

I take it the top link would be the one to go with?

Do you think I am headed in the right direction by removing the boot chip in U51 and running the All Clear chip then reinstalling the U52 game chip and CDROM?

Both U52 chip and CDROM have matching numbers and not sure why I keep getting the error "CDROM and EPROM don't match".

I don't have any experience with the sigmas.

Just to be "clear" here, this link and your check on Mouser refer to blank chips that might happen to be the size used for the Dallas Clear chip. However, a blank chip without the Clear program written on it would be completely useless to you. That's like buying a blank DVD instead of buying a DVD of Windows (or whatever). It's the content that matters.

I still am hoping someone on this site has the knowledge if the the All Clear chip will rectify my problem. I installed 2 new batteries and reset the bios but still am getting and CDROM and EPROM do not match error. U52 and the CDROM numbers match exactly. Doesn't mean I don't have a defective EPROM in U52.

What game was installed in your machine before, and have you used this C/D with the boot chip installed?

The reason I ask is you MUST match the Boot chip, C/D and I/O chip to the same version of software. Just have the same game name is not enough. Software was written for different jurisdictions so they all must match.

Next you mention the Dallas All Clear. The correct chip is a AT27c040 in the PLCC with a speed of 100n's or better (I use 90's) As Statfreak pointed out this is a programed chip.
Depending on the game to be installed some will need a set chip after the clear. You will need this to access the menus for set-up.

Next when changing games, this platform is tricky. It is recommended to remove the Disc on Chip before performing a clear. Sigma has experienced the Disc on Chips being corrupted if a clear is performed with the chip installed. I know it's not common for this to happen and the chances are low but if you loose the Disc on chip it will have to be re-formatted. I'm sure you will not find anyone with the equipment to re-format those chips, so be warned.

I personally just set up another MPU with a new game. I then just leave it with that game. If I want to change games all I do is plug in the other MPU that was previously set up.

I did. I read through all the troubleshooting and still scratching my head. Simply I don't see how the EPROM and CDROM are not matching checksums. Nothing has been changed in the machine. The only thing I can think of is either U52 the EPROM went bad. Another user posted on another post I have that U51 the Boot Chip also has to be matched with U52 and the CDROM. I did not read that anywhere in the manual.

So yes I did get the UV1700 manual but still scratching the ole noggin'

Did you see the part of 10 errors you will need to call sigma for special clear info?

I did but on page 45 of the manual it states that CDROM AND EPROM DO NOT MATCH errors are unlogged. I am not getting a MACHINE ERROR LOG FULL error so I think I am in the clear so far with that issue.
