Title: how to clear credits on a S+ machine?

is there a way to do this without having to press the cashout button?

Use a set chip.

Just pull the CMOS chip, then put it back in. You will get a 61, clear that and the credits will be gone.

Add: Doing this will also cause all of the settings to revert to their default values and you'll have to go through them to set things up the way you had them.
In most cases running quarters through the hopper is the better choice.

BTW, this same question was asked and answered less than 24 hours ago. The machine is different but it's the same issue. Either let the hopper run its course or clear the machine somehow.

I beg to dissagree. The settings will be reloaded from the EEPROM. I've done this quite a few times.

My batting average sucks today. :52- :30-  :259-   I now recall you're posting the results of your experimentation before.
