Title: Bally E-2090 Error Code 41
Post by: czsm on October 24, 2011, 05:37:07 PM
My Bally E-2090 3 reel slot works perfect when it is first plugged in.  After playing for about 20 minutes, the machine goes into a "tilt" condition, with all the reels spinning, and an error code 41 in the display.  According to the manual, an Error 41 indicates the left reel reader read 3 or more errors.  I have to hit the reset button inside to correct the problem, but it continues to go into this condition with almost every pull of the handle, until I unplug the machine for a while.

Any ideas on what the problem is and a recommended fix?

Swap reel readers 1 & 3 .
If the problem moves to the
right side (code 43) you will need a new reader.
If it stays on the left then you have a
problem with the reel reader control board
or the I/O board.

Thanks proten.  I swapped 1 and 3 reel readers and the problem moved to reel 3 (error code 43 now).  Like before the machine works fine when first turned on, but if it's left on for more than 30 minutes, it gets a reel reader error.

Are these repairable or do I just replace it?

Talk to Barry (Foxsslots), he has readers and can repair them.
Look for his banner on the home page.

Thx proten.  Much appreciated.  Barry's helped me out with quite a few parts already.  I'll contact him regarding this reel reader.

I just ordered a replaced star agitator (old one was turning into a tar-like substance).  BTW, those $1 tokens I got from you work great!
