Title: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: hockman5 on October 26, 2011, 03:25:36 PM Hello, I have an IGT Multi Poker machine and they reset key doesnt do anything, and the reset button has no effect either. Screen says call Attendant when they door is closed. And when the door is open it says Door Open, Call Attendant, and CMOS data. Any ideas how to reboot this thing and get rid of error messages?
Thanks Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: Buzz on October 26, 2011, 04:50:28 PM It's been a long time but as I recall, close the main door and then turn the jackpot key it should clear the error. If you suspect the jack pot switch is bad, remove it from the machine and stick the two wires out the hole. momentary touching these two wires together is the same as turning the key.

Then close the door and turn the jackpot reset key (or short the wires together for a moment, as Buzz suggested). You may need to do that process twice.

Someone else told me I had to replace the RAM chip with a clear chip. I have a clear chip but one of the leads broke off :( Thanks for you quick replies, will keep you posted....
Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: Buzz on October 26, 2011, 06:05:25 PM hockman5 The fellow that told you to exchange the ram chip for a clear chip is the fellow you don't want helping you on your machine. Right now I'm not going to tell you how to clear your machine because most times they don't need cleared and you create a mess when you do.
You have kanagl helping you and he's one of the best so I think I'll just sit back and read. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: hockman5 on October 26, 2011, 10:08:48 PM Thanks knagl, I did as you said and the reset key works. Now I get a LOW BATTERY message. Will the machine recharge the battery if I leave it on for a while? Or do I need to replace the battery.
Thanks again!!!1 At second Glance, when i power the machine off and back on and close the door, it now says "Door Open" Call Attendant "Low Battery". They door is firmly closed and locked, and I never had a door open problem before. Any ideas? Press and hold the Self Test switch inside the machine for a few seconds, then release. Then close the door and turn the jackpot reset key (or short the wires together for a moment, as Buzz suggested). You may need to do that process twice. Your last question is a easy one, you have to change the battery. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: knagl on October 26, 2011, 10:53:01 PM Your last question is a easy one, you have to change the battery. :212-I learned all my stuff from guys like Buzz who know their $#!+. :) No, the machine will not recharge the battery. You will need to replace the battery with the exact same type and voltage that is currently in there. I wouldn't worry about the door open issue until after you get the battery issue resolved -- more than likely your door issue will go away once you have a new battery on there. ...and I'm with Buzz, too -- don't mess around with a clear chip unless it's a last resort. Right now you're not at that point at all. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: hockman5 on October 26, 2011, 11:28:55 PM After powering it off for a while and turning it back on, and resetting with the button and they key again, I no longer have the door open message, just the low battery.
Can I take it out and possibly pick one up at Batteries+ ? Or is it a special battery that I have to order from some special place? As far as replacing it, Just heat up the solder and remove the one thats there and reverse the process for the new one? Seems pretty simple....right? Thanks again for all your help.... Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: Buzz on October 26, 2011, 11:56:10 PM Your looking for a 3.6 volt Lithium battery. Size is 1/2 AA SAFT's part number is #14250 Radio Shack has them and charge 3 times what one sells for on Ebay.
Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: hockman5 on October 27, 2011, 12:31:03 AM Thanks Buzz, I ran down to Batteries Plus, they had them and spot welded the terminals on it for me. I bought 2 of them so I will have a spare. Which means I will probably never need it...lol
Thanks for all the help, the machine is up and running perfectly now. As for the Cash Out button, is the best way to disable it just to unplug the wires from it? Hate when there are 1000 credits and someone hits that button and I have to endlessly keep filling up the hopper and letting it dish them out. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: Buzz on October 27, 2011, 12:37:04 AM The easy way is to unplug a wire, or slip one side of the black micro switch down about a 1/16 of a inch. Then if or when you want the hopper tp pay out all you have to do is push up on the micro and it will pop back in place.
Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: jay on October 27, 2011, 03:25:57 AM The other thing you can do is set the hopper max pay out to say 10 tokens.
If someone cashes out with 1000 credits on the machine the first 10 spit out and then it goes into hand pay mode which you clear using the Jackpot reset key. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: knagl on October 27, 2011, 07:02:14 AM If his game supports split hopper and jackpot limits. It's been a while since I've messed with one, but I seem to think that the PE+ isn't terribly flexible when it comes to what we're trying to accomplish.
The buttons are wired in series, so it's a bad plan to unplug any of the wires. Your best bet is to do what was suggested above and just slightly pop the microswitch out of the button so it doesn't do anything when the button is pressed. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: hockman5 on October 27, 2011, 03:13:24 PM Thanks again Buzz and knaql, i will pop the microswitch a bit.
I didnt see anywhere on my machine to limit jackpot payouts, or I would have used that solution instead. Title: Re: igt pe+ Multi Poker - Upright Help Needed Post by: knagl on October 27, 2011, 06:12:07 PM Some of the hopper limit options disappear from the Self Test menus when there are credits on the machine. Make sure to cash out any credits, then enter the self test menus to see all of the available options.
