Title: Error 00 in Winner Paid area
Post by: billb707 on October 27, 2011, 12:19:01 AM
I changed a wild RWB to a Double Diamond, have no BV and a cash box door wire that appears was twisted together.  I get the 61 routine and the ding, but after that, nothing.

Chip had 10mhz printed on it.

Any hope?

As an update, the thing is now working perfectly, not sure why, but I'll take it.

Thank you for reading!!

Glad you got it working. :3-

In the future, just make sure that you get the sequence down right. After you get the 61_1 and ding, you have to close and latch the door and then turn the jackpot key. If the door is not latched (to align the door optics), it won't clear.

It was funny, after a few cycles, it would finally hang on the 65 1  code and then i could get the jackreset key make things change.

Beats me.  Now I have to go back and realign the reel strips, they are a little off.

This is a great website by the way.

65_1 is normal if you change games or the MPU.

In case you don't know, here is a link to the common errors and how to clear each one.

I found it all right, hit a bunch of those codes, including a reel tilt because i guess i put the strip on with the overlap wrong.

Great site, no doubt about it, thanks.

Having the reels strip on wrong should not have caused a tilt. I tilt ocurs if the reels are not moving fast enough when they are spinning or if they are moved when they are not spinning.

That's what I think happened, I heard a screech cause I had the overlap backwards.

What cause those fine scratch marks on the strips anyway?  There is nothing touching them.

Not sure about the scratches. Most of the 'damage' seems to happen when the strips are stored. Maybe from rolling them up.

That could be, if you wind them tight enough I suppose.

Make sure that the wiring for the fluorescent tube at the top of the reel glass isn't drooping into the reels as you close the door -- it'll appear tight with the door open, but watch the wires as you close the door -- over time they tend to stretch a little and can come uncomfortably close to the reels.

:212-

This is very common. When you get reel strips that already seem to have small vertical scratches along their length, the chances are that the machine in the casino had loose florescent wires that caused the scratches. BTW, if the rubbing is significant enough, it can also cause a reel tilt.

It's also possible in your case that the seam caught on the wires (or even on the frame) because you had the bottom edge of the strip set as outer half of the overlap.

Sounds very plausible, man you guys really know these machines.

BTW, are these S plus machines the ones that somebody was able to use a light bulb at the end of a wire to trick the hopper into dumping itself?

I was looking at the coin path and there doesn't seem to be much stopping somebody from doing that.

Yes. But then they installed an 'anti-tamper' device on the hopper. Originally the optics were mounted over the coin exit. But then they moved the optics over to the other side, and it is activated with a rocker that has a 'flag' on it that breaks the path just like a coin would. The coin pushes the rocker up and the flag on the other side breaks the optics path. There is also a cover over it to prevent any light from hitting it.

You may have an older style, or sometimes the rocker breaks and people just put it back over on the other side for home use.

Old style on left, new style on right. Click on picture to enlarge.

Mine is the one on the left.  I did go downstairs to check, but I was pretty certain as soon as I saw the word Mexico.  LOL.

An amazing fix on the part of IGT, (given they must have been in a real hurry) did the casinos pay or did IGT.
