He's probably asleep!  :96-   :208- :208-

Could you be more specific about your problem?
Although you posted this on the S+ board, can you first confirm that you have an S+ and not an S2000?

Why were you "tired of waiting for the hopper to run out of coins"?
Had you cashed out a large number of credits?
Did it run out of coins and give you a 3300 hopper empty tilt?  or
Did you power down the machine before it was finished cashing out and pull two EPROMs to try to clear the remaining credits?
If you did do this, which chips did you remove?
    Did you then replace them?

The more information you give us, the more we can help.

Pulling out MPU's while powered up is not a good idea.
and [3300] means you most likely have an S+ slot machine with an empty hopper.

Eprom chips are directional.
They are marked with a notch, dot, or indentation at one end.
On the circuit board itself, there will be an etched line on one side
of the socket that sort of looks like this...>>>  \_/

You need to pull out that MPU again...this time with the power off.
Re-pull that chip you took out earlier and under close inspection at the socket itself,
see if any of the little eprom leg clips in the socket holes are missing or pulled up.

Sometimes what happens ( very rarely) when you pull out a chip from socket that has
been in there for a long time, the clip that grabs the eprom leg comes out too -
stuck to the clip from oxidization.
It's a real struggle sometimes to put the clip back in
and at that point there are two options you can take...>>>

Either get another known good MPU and transfer the chips over
                                          or
Fix the socket as best you can and install a Zif socket for future use.

Finally, to avoid large cashouts in the future, go into the settings
and lower your hopper limits to match the insert sticker on your reel glass.
That way you can force the machine to do an attendant handpay -
in which all you need to do is flip the reset key once to zero out the credits.

FYI, pulling the game and reel chip won't do anything. If you did plug them in backwards, most likely they are now toast. Make sure you have the right one in the right socket. SS chip in reel and SP chip in game.

For future reference besides for changing the hopper limits as noted above, you can pull the CMOS chip out, wait a couple of seconds and plug it back in. You will get a 61 when you power up the machine, but once you clear that, the credits will be gone (and hence it won't try to pay out any more). The CMOS is the battery backed up memory. Pulling it will cause it to lose it's memory. It will reload everything except for the credits on power up from the EEPROM (hence the 61 error).

removed board with power on

Never insert or remove a board with the power on.  You have possibly caused permanent damage to the board and/or the chips on it.

Are you positive that the chips are inserted in the correct direction and in the correct sockets?

I know from experience that just inserting an eprom backward in an s+ will mess up the chip.

I always hate when that happens and you don't know what it turned out to be.
