Is there anything that's not on YouTube? :97- :97- :97- :97-

I have a copy of this on DVD that I burned from my DVR. At least they used a Wms slot instead of an IGT. cfh will be ecstatic!  :72-

I enjoy the "How It's Made" series, but personally I would rather see them focus on fewer items in greater depth in each show. This slot example is typical of the series. It gives a good general overview for people unfamiliar with the process, but doesn't go into any real detail. I still learn things watching the show, though. They had a segment demonstrating a completely automated milk farm where the cows enter the milking station at will and a computer takes care of every detail. Even mucking out the barn was automated.

As discussed here before you can see that new hard meters come from the factory set at 9999802
I don't remember who here had made that observation in a previous thread but they were correct. :89-

Uniman, the pictures I've seen of new meters have them set at 999800 so that they can be tested up to 200 times before being put into play.
Not that you care.. :72- :72-
Now I know where Stat saw that! But it's 9999802.  :72-
Nice video, but why start out talking about the beginning of slots and showing a skill stop?  :103-

On a side note; who ever voted the new NLG site "sucks" has to have dialup like me. To see the video I clicked on it, walked on the treadmill for 10 minutes, took a shower, eat a snack, returned and the video still hadn't fully loaded. I finally saw the video, then clicked on this thread. With the video also in this thread it takes about 10-15 minutes for the tread to open and then another 10 minutes when I want to reply.  :8-
Of course downloading and seeing any video takes just as long.
But maybe if you left the video out of the thread until it is removed from the main page it might help us stoneage folks.

Nice video,  I had those Exact center reel inserts to that game in the video and some of you here know that!.  It is cool .  If it is a good game we will go after the guts/parts -does not matter who makes it.  They show the "simple" side of manufacture and not too much.  They probably had to think about showing the pic of the card going in-(which was trivial to game operating).

Why do they always show a Japanese slot machine...

Things I learned:

I did not know they put a coated glass behind the payline to ground it out?   I am not sure what you could do otherwise to make it payout other then the secret knob they forgot to show!   :72-

Also to note:

The Reel cabinet and the video are 85% the same hardware which they did to save $$$.

Meters on the BB can not be disabled like the 550 / 360

MEI or WBA will work

The Ethernet jacks you see are called "SPN" which is what WMS uses to communicate with their devices like the extra bet button you see pictured

The player panel was made to be changed quickly which is why it slides in and out unlike all other machines

Green boards are non ROHS, Blue are.

Casinos demand titles that people will play / stay and or come back.

Great video.. I too wish they would go more in depth for all their shows.  Sometimes it seems that every episode has "workers assemble the..."  and it gets a bit boring.   Also... I didn't know about the glass. Pretty cool!

Check out the fingernails on the girl putting the buttons in. If that was her real job she'd break them all the first day, then get fired for scratching up the button caps.

Oh, and Japanese "slot machines" <sneer> ... They flash and the reels go round - nobody in the media knows the difference.
