I have been tasked to look at methods of retrofitting old machines with Ticket Validators and Printers. Just wondering if anyone has seen old machines with external printers and validators? I have seen loyalty systems in boxes mounted to the side of older slot machines, but not sure if any companies have ever done it for a TITO system. Only other option is to replace about 4500 slots machines with newer cabinets, which might get a tad expensive (not to mention annoying the old clients that love their particular old game) Title: Re: External Ticket Validators and Printers Post by: superparts on November 17, 2011, 03:49:58 AM Hello Andy,

Some date back to the 80's. Not all need to be converted, as some machines support TITO. Its a jurisdictional protocol, so next best option would be to convert the games to SAS if its possible to convince the regulator to allow it. Easiest solution would be to mount a printer and ticket validator to the side of the machine, as it would alleviate all regulator issues.
tztech, smart card is out. We already have a cashless solution but they are not interested in it. Odd, cause it would get around a lot of issues and its already approved in this jurisdiction. TITO is not actually allowed, but there is a push to make it happen. This might make things a bit harder.

How about this - Your system hadware communicates directly with your ticket printer and bv and interfaces with the machine via local protocol/SAS. This may also be a loophole for the aristocrt issue as you are not technically connecting TITO to the machine. |
