Title: IGT S+ Double Blackjack Makeover... Power Cord Reroute Post by: j$hort on November 21, 2011, 08:28:07 PM I have not been able to spend too much time other than a photo shoot with this machine and have a question about routing the power cord. I will likely have this machine on a counter or possibly a stand and the power cord currently exits the machine in a way that would squeeze the cord. It seems pretty obvious where to reroute this to exit machine, but I was wondering why it is routed as is. Is there some practice of routing thru a stand or other. Are there any ideas on this or creative ways to route power cords. I assume that a surge protector should be used. Any ideas on properly and nicely running power to your machine???

The smaller hole right next to where the cord is now would be one option (to route the cord into the stand), and then the "obvious" one in the back would be the place to route the cord to have it come out of the back of the machine.
In a casino environment, I presume that the preferred setup would be to route the power cord into the stand so that it would not be accessable to a potential vandal. In a home setup, routing the cord out the back of the machine is perfectly acceptable. Yes, please use a good quality surge protector (not a cheap $5 one) to protect your machines, and it's worth unplugging them if you're not going to use them for weeks at a time. I do recommend you do bolt it to its stand, or it will move just about every time you close the door. and like Jay said do not use the coin drop hole. there is one close to the power cord and it why it is there. The machine has a power cord channel that runs form the hole near the power cord to the back of the machine. you will not damage or pinch the cord when its going through there. You might have to position the machine off the edge of the stand to get the cord to slip into that channel, just do not let too much of the machine hang off or it will tip over onto you, or fall on the floor. The stand I have for my S2000 has a large hole just below the back area of the machine Title: Re: IGT S+ Double Blackjack Makeover... Kevin, but I'll take the compliment. :96- To be clear, here are your two options (in green). If you're not going to route the power cord through the stand, then only use the one closest to the back of the machine with the cutout so the cord doesn't get crushed by the machine.
