Is there something wrong with your machine?
Maybe one of our members can help you solve any problems you might have?

I'm new here and a first time slot owner, so i think the problem is i have NO experience.

The machine is working fine, takes my money just like i thought it would. I would like to change denom, figure out what the payout % is etc. My understanding is the PSR has the instructions on how to get though the menus to do so. Are the setup instructions specific for the SP1036, or is there general instructions for all IGT S+ machines.  I get the feeling the SP1036 and SS8551 are not very common.

 Everybody's gotta start somewhere!  :72-  :238-

That's a Type 37 "Run For Your Money" game.
You have 2 threads going on about this machine?

Anyways, the denomination is changed by physically changing out the SS chip in your machine.
Different SS chips controls various percentages of the game.

The SP chip is for the "Type" of game - meaning it respins, or nudges the reels up or down or in your case, has lights that go in a circle up in the topbox area and you push the start button to activate the bonus round.

You're right about one thing - it's not that common of a game.
It may or may NOT be listed in the NLG Bible of games located on the right-hand side of the Homepage.

Also, take a look at "Rick's FAQ Files"...there will be some info in there about your game TYPE.

I think you meant to say that the payback percentage is changed by physically changing out the SS chip in the machine.  The denomination is a factor of the coin handling equipment installed, the sample coin installed in the comparator, and the denomination set for the bill validator with the use of a SET chip.

Oops! Thank Knagl!
You've read my mind...! lol

There's not a whole lot of info on that game.
I wonder what SET chip it requires?

I bet it says what's needed in the SP & ST List post (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=68.msg201#msg201).  :71-

By the way, welcome to the site, sharking!  You've got one heck of a game for a first machine.  S+/Barcrest games are pretty darn neat.

For your SS8551 chip, the payback percentage is 90.072% (for a house hold of 9.928%).  As was alluded to above, the only way to change that percentage would be to buy a different SS chip that was designed for Run For Your Money.

You guys are the best! Thanks for the welcomes, i have learned so much on this site.

Where do you find the payback % for the SS chips designed for this game? Is there a master list? Where is the best place to find other SS chips so i can change the payback % when i want to?

From all the reading i think i need "SET 069" chip?  Correct?

Can someone decipher this in more detail.

SP1036 Type 37 (Run for your Money) 16MHz, ID023, SET069/73, 0.05, Req Add on Mem PCB - SAS Bonusing and EFT if SET069 is used

16Mhz means it needs a 16MHz MPU board. There are 2 kinds...the other being the more popular 10MHz MPU board.
ID023 is the protocol for the bill acceptor needed
SET069/73 is the SET chip you need to enable the bill acceptor and set the denomination.
You can use SET073 just to set the denom and enable the bill acceptor - SET069 is more for the SAS and EFT settings.
0.05 means it's a really designed to be a nickel game...I could be wrong on this.
Reg Add on PCB- SAS Bonusing is really for casino use...not for your machine in your basement.
EFT - same stuff...meant for casino usage to communicate with a backroom casino server. ( Electronic Funds Transfer)

To add to what Bunker said:

S+ Barcrest games require the 16mhz boards.

$0.05 represents the lowest denomination that this SP chip supports. It could be set up as $0.05, 0.10, 0.25, 0.50, $1, $5, $10, $25, $50, or $100.

I believe that the "req add on mem PCB" bit is actually referring to the requirement that this SP chip requires the add-on Barcrest top box board in order for the machine to function.

As for a list of SS chips, pretty much all of the games except the Barcrest ones are documented in the IGT bible (http://newlifegames.net/igtbible (http://newlifegames.net/igtbible) ). Of course, that doesn't help you. I don't know if anyone here might have a list of the SS chips you're looking for.

On that note, however, the payback percentage is calculated over hundreds of thousands of spins. You will not see any significant difference in game play if you change the SS chip, and the frequency of hitting the bonus will not change.

There is an SS8547 97.436% for this game. Where you get it I wouldn't know (maybe one of the vendors). There is a Master IGT Eprom list That I got from this site. It goes up to SS13436 and has all the S+ Barcrest games on it. That SS8551 probably sucks big time as you are really only playing for Bonus Rounds. I'm thinking that will suck up money real fast.
