Title: how to repair a small scratch/chip on a s2k reel glass??? Post by: staz on November 28, 2011, 11:36:47 PM any suggestions????? i got this little chip/scratch on my reel glass...... how it got there cant figure it out cuz its on the inside part of the reel glass that you see through......i was thinking of trying this

If the damage is on the back side of the glass, keep in mind that the reel windows have a Mylar finish on them. The wrong chemical could damage it. I have used a very light rubbing compound and carnuaba wax to polish and remove light scuffs on mine. The front side is just glass. I have used acetone to remove tape goo, etc and then always use Windex for finger prints and normal cleaning.

Staz- Unless it's really bad, I think I'd leave it alone instead of risking making it worse, at least until you have a line on a replacement.
