ok i cleaned my desk and found this eprom on it...what is it for...i have a igt slot but i don't remember taking this out?  could it be used for the dollar acceptor for the new 5 dollar bill? that is the only thing i can think of  :25-  .the numbers on the chip are:  M27C400i-80XfI -5881G -9944G Singapore

Don't know what that is but a 27C4001 works for a DBV or WBA. It is a 8 Bit, 32 pin EPROM.

The number you posted merely identifies it as a 4 megabit EPROM as r273 explained.

The data on it could be for anything, but since you mentioned having only one IGT machine, you're probably right about it being for the validator. An older S+ doesn't use 4mb chips and an S2000 would use a 16 bit chip (Someone correct me if I'm wrong. :96-)

By the way, the "-80" means that the chip is an 80ns (nano second) chip, which is fast enough for all of our various slot applications.
