I have a handheld 10 Mhz "Scope" by "Vellman" that was under $200. Works great for working on any kind of logic boards (slot/pinball/etc). The reason this is a bad idea, the top frequency is 4 KILOHERTZ! It won't be able to sync to anything faster than that. The ONLY drawback....maximum of 100 volts on it's input. You could use a 10:1 probe to take you to a kilovolt (I would NOT do that). I do have a regular Tektronics scope for the bench, but have used this one quite a bit.Since your running off of batteries you are "Floating" above ground, can really save your ass at times.... http://www.vellemanusa.com/products/view/?country=us&lang=enu&id=351263 (http://www.vellemanusa.com/products/view/?country=us&lang=enu&id=351263) Kirk |
