Title: Re: Catch A wave BV disable. Post by: knagl on December 12, 2011, 11:34:32 PM Pardon the obvious answer, but couldn't you just not put a stacker box (cash can) in the machine and that would cause the validator to be disabled?

Title: Re: Catch A wave BV disable. Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 13, 2011, 12:19:23 AM How about a set of sharp pliers? lol just kidding
Pulling the DBV connectors would probably cause an error too. With a working bill acceptor, it's very unusual for anyone to actually "disable" it? Everybody's always asking here how to get the bloody things working! :96- Title: Re: Catch A wave BV disable. Post by: kforeman on December 13, 2011, 12:28:14 AM i just looked at a random Catch A Wave PSR and i didn't see anywhere to disable the BV. :37- i know its an option on newer GK programs but on the older 17 key programs i don't remember ever seeing it as operator selectable. same goes for setting BV tilts to "hard" or "soft" otherwise the suggestion for puling the cashbox would work. :89-
i would also think that disconnecting the BV at the mobo would give you a "bill acceptor disconnected" tilt or something similar but it's worth a try if you don't find a better solution. i keep expecting to see Jim from blueridge jump in here with a totally obvious solution that we should all have thought of. :97- :97- :131- Title: Re: Catch A wave BV disable. Post by: knagl on December 13, 2011, 06:55:38 AM It's dirty, but how about setting the DIP switches on the DBV to reject all denominations?
Title: Re: Catch A wave BV disable. Post by: stayouttadabunker on December 13, 2011, 02:09:52 PM There MUST be a way to disable it because I've seen the machines at the Turning Stone casino near Syracuse -
they do not use coins OR bill acceptors. The casino uses some sort of a debit card system which IMO really sucks because there's absolutely no hard cash flowing around... you'll never find a $5 bill on the floor anymore! :37- :72- Title: Re: Catch A wave BV disable.
