Title: Catch A wave BV disable.
Post by: idylewild1 on December 12, 2011, 11:02:19 PM
Have searched and searched the menus for a way to disable the BV on an IGAME software Catch A Wave. Anyone know what I'm missing ?????? Thanks in advance for any help.

do you have a PSR for your program?  if not post up your game chip number and i'll see if it's an option...

Pardon the obvious answer, but couldn't you just not put a stacker box (cash can) in the machine and that would cause the validator to be disabled?

Not having a cash box locks machine. it is ussually a hard tilt

How about a set of sharp pliers? lol   just kidding
Pulling the DBV connectors would probably cause an error too.

With a working bill acceptor, it's very unusual for anyone to actually "disable" it?
Everybody's always asking here how to get the bloody things working!  :96-

i just looked at a random Catch A Wave PSR and i didn't see anywhere to disable the BV.  :37-  i know its an option on newer GK programs but on the older 17 key programs i don't remember ever seeing it as operator selectable.  same goes for setting BV tilts to "hard" or "soft" otherwise the suggestion for puling the cashbox would work.  :89-
i would also think that disconnecting the BV at the mobo would give you a "bill acceptor disconnected" tilt or something similar but it's worth a try if you don't find a better solution.

i keep expecting to see Jim from blueridge jump in here with a totally obvious solution that we should all have thought of.  :97- :97- :131-

It's dirty, but how about setting the DIP switches on the DBV to reject all denominations?

There MUST be a way to disable it because I've seen the machines at the Turning Stone casino near Syracuse -
they do not use coins OR bill acceptors.
The casino uses some sort of a debit card system which IMO really sucks because there's absolutely no hard cash flowing around...
you'll never find a $5 bill on the floor anymore!  :37-   :72-
