Title: Bally 5500 Reel problem
Post by: bikerbawb on December 16, 2011, 11:20:47 PM
I'm working on a Bally 5500 Pro-Slot for a friend. It started out as a bad power supply. I replaced the PS and discovered the MPU board was bad. I replaced the MPU board did all the ram clears. Upon power up everything initializes, as expected, however. as the reels calibrate only the #2 reel finds its home position. Reels #1 and 3 continue to rotate. I swapped reel #2 to the other positions and when in those positions it found it's home position. Thinking I had bad optics I replaced both reel #1 and 2 with no change. Anybody have any idea where to look next. I'm stuck. I think I bit off more than I can chew trying to help a friend. :279-

Did you do the ram clear with the clear chips? or J10 jumper peusedo coin test. if the chips are 97 or newer you will need the clear chips.

Both. I got the board from rudysdeals with new mains. I did the ram clear via the J10 jumper
