Title: Odyssey Game Change/Configuration Question
Post by: mikegotcha on December 20, 2011, 01:52:47 PM
Is configuring an Odessy any more difficult than a Game King or I game? I have a friend interested in buying one. It's a multi game. Are all of the games pre loaded on the drive and it's a matter of a safe ram clear to option new games or is possibly a different HD needed? Thanks.. Don't know about these beasts.

It's actually easier than changing games on a iGame,  Doesn't require any chip swaps, tray pulling, etc.  The procedure is *semi* documented on my site - http://www.robertwinter.com/slot/odyssey/tech_safeclear.htm (note that if you have a Type 1 memory board with the switch bank in the middle of the board, you'd flip the fourth switch from the TOP since the switch banks are oriented differently between Type 1 and Type 2).

Once you've done the Safe Clear, you'll go into MMS to set the machine denomination and choose the six games you want on the menu.  It's during this that you will see the games that are available on the hard drive.  Factory drives usually had only 6-7 games on them, each with multiple payout percentages.  That's the main reason I created the 15 game drive so owners would have most games accessible on one drive.
