You should have seen what the other one went for.
The first winning bid was recalled then it was re-listed and sold for a $100 more!
Total with shipping came out over $350 bucks!  :72- That's nuts!

The glass and strips are not IGT originals!

They are made by EI which makes them counterfeit or copyright infringement.

Edited to put but a major point.

They are made by EI.

I agree...those strips don't look original as well.
EI was known to make either great strips  or bad copies...

Nothing like paying top dollar for a bad copy.

Foster you were right the first time, counterfeit

Yes David Keller is a counterfeiter! I bought a machine from him with this kit on it!
He got very upset when I confirmed about selling me machine with a counterfeit kit on it!!!
You all should make sure you know all of the facts before you start saying things you shouldn't!
I still have all of the emails and the receipt for the machine from David the lair!
So I if I get any trouble selling the kit it will in up in his lap!! Not Mine!!!!

Personally I don't see the big deal if it's a E.I. kit. Everyone was groaning when they no longer were making repros. My HWD is a E.I kit made before they stopped doing them, and I would never part with it. I'll take a minty repro over a beat up original any day.

I've actually never heard of a bad E.I. kit. From way back when they were making them for us, I always though they were nearly identical to the originals.

As for the 'purists', these are not antiques, so do 'most' people really care?

And does anyone have an example of a 'bad' E.I. kit?

Sunkist Graphics used to make strips too...
I don't know if they're still in the biz though.

The reason I said that there are some "bad" copies is because there were
a few posts about members seeing certain shades of colors with some strips that were made a couple of years ago.
Other than that, I've heard nothing but good strips made from them
and some people were very happy about getting them - which is good!

I am in the company of home slot owners that agree that a good copy is a great copy -
especially if it "looks" good when you play the machine with them installed.
I am no way, a "purist".
One would have a blast playing my machine -
from the outside, it looks GREAT!!!
But when you open the door and look inside - you'd go "Oh-My-God"  :72-

I have so much extra stuff in my personal machine that you'd spend a day just
looking around in it rather than actually playing it!  :97-
I'd have no fun with a "stock" OEM machine..uh uh.

Anyways, most strips copies made by those graphic companies are way better than the garbage
I see that are still in the machines at my local casino!  :37-
I like playing their crappy old Haywire game in the hopes that
it will haywire and knock the strips right off the reel basket!  :96-
The 1st reel never haywires backwards though...only the 2nd and 3rd reel.

i bought a musters kit from EI.
The kit quality is excellent in all but one way.
The progressive window that reads progressive is permanently part of the glass vs  a window + sticker.
The second level is also a permanent value.
I paid160 for the glass+reel strips.

I have no issues with buying duplicate kits as long as they are listed as "manufactured by EI" and there is no pretense of it being original. Happ and Mikohn both sold clone kits which were unique themes but the payables were clones of IGT themes to be used with IGT software (which is Nevada Gaming board certified).

I also have EI 9line triple diamond and Haywire Deluxe which were exceptionally rare.

Its like buying a rolex in HongKong. You know you are paying 20 for a copy. Everyone looks at it as a novelty. I would be pretty T'eed off if someone sold me a Rolex for 4K and it turned out to be a fake.

I have a bad example of a Wild Cherry Reproduction kit, strips will not lay flat, and they used plexiglass instead of glass.
No chrome or mirror where IGT had it in the original design.

I do not know if it was a EI kit or not. if not then someone else has created a counterfeit kit that looks slightly okay.
I use the kit to to keep my IGT glass from touching the wall.

I agree that a bad piece of IGT glass looks bad, but patience will let you get a replacement piece.

I have an EI Triple Diamond Haywire kit that is the cat's ass as far as condition goes.  The jackpot award is actually part of the mylar on the back of the glass...not a sticker.  I had no problem buying this kit.  Some of the shades of color are a bit different than the original, but if it plays the same, who cares?

At least the guy with the Munsters kit notes that the glass and strips are EI in the description.  Many folks don't do that.

With a good copier you can duplicate glass in color and put it between two pexis. You will never get the mirrored effects but if you just want to play the game for fun sake this will get you going. EI never did plexi they were doing repo glass for casinos. Theoretically to replace broken pieces no longer available from IGT.

I looked at the photograph of the item again.
As far as I can see, the strips on the right match the game almost perfectly.
The strips on the left don't match the award glass - look at the green bars.
Those are NOT on the award glass.

You can see how the blue in the bar symbols match the award glass' blue bars.

The left strips are a perfect example of "bad" strips
whereas the strips on the right are GREAT!

What am I missing?  :103- The colors look about the same to me considering one set is backlit. The single green bar is on the award glass as 10 20 30

The inside colors of the 3 Bar symbols are vastly different.
The left strips have them as green while the strips on the right are light blue -
like the blues on the 3 bar symbols in the award glass.

I should have said "3 Bar" in my post - rather than "bars"

The second picture has a better comparison. On my monitor, they still look blue, but the white background is brighter on the non-backlit ones along with all of the symbols. With the award glass lit up, I wonder if one would really notice.

Poppo,
I copied and pasted these directly from yabe...( spelled backwards on purpose)
you don't see the differences? Just wondering....maybe it's the color on the LCD screen?
Plus the size of the symbols on the backlit ones are correct...the left strip symbols are too big.

Sorry, my crystal ball was in the shop earlier this week, got it back now. So you got ripped off with a repro kit in a machine and now you're trying to recover some of your money by over pricing the kit on ebay? More power to you, Foster and I were just pointing out that it was a repro kit and probably shouldn't go for hundreds of dollars. But it's like everything in life, it's worth what someone will pay for it. Hope it goes for as much as you got "ripped" for.

Yes I agree they are different. But one set is back-lit and the others aren't, so there will be a difference. As for the color, on my monitor they both still look blue (just a different shade).  I guess my only point is that would anyone really notice or care? Obviously they might care about being backilt or not, but just generally speaking. For example, I have home made strips in my Gold Mountain machine. The colors may not be perfect, and the gold does not 'glitter' as much on the special symbols. But they are pristine. So for me, I would rather have slightly off color strips than ones that have cracks, scratches, etc. in them.  And I'm sure my E.I. Haywire Deluxe strips are not 100% identical to originals, but they are in perfect condtion, and to me that is all that matters.

As for the kit on e-bay, I'm still a little confused as to just what is going on (i.e. who bought what and whatever), but as Brianzz noted above, all that really matters is how much someone is willing to pay. If I were looking for that kit and wanted it bad enough, I would pay through the nose for it provided it was in decent enough condition, repro or not. Heck I bought a couple pieces of brand new (original)S+ reel glass, and paid more for them than some here would pay for a complete machine. But I was tired of buying cheaper ones that were listed as 'great condition' only to get them with scratches, cracks, etc.

In any case, if someone is a 'purist', I would think they would ask questions and do research before they bought a kit or a machine. For anyone else, I don't think it really matters.

I am sure many of you will think I am crazy but I will probably bid on this kit.  It is a lot of money but my feeling is if I like the kit and it makes me happy, so what.

Not crazy at all.  Genuine or not, take into consideration how rare this theme is and how rare do the surface.  Owners of these kits keep them.  If they do sell them, they aren't going to be cheap.

Go for it!

If you think the Munsters is crazy :200- . just wait and see if a 3 credit round top the mummy ever hits eBay  . Jason will probably just buy eBay to be sure he gets the glass   :208- :208- :208- ***NOTE  I bought a 5 x Munsters 16"  glass kit.    After having to buy the reel strips / simms /Sb chip/ reel glass  i have probably more in it than most would pay . shipping alone as separate parts is a big cost also  BUT IT MAKES ME HAPPY  :89-

I doubt you can not guess I paid for an Original Haywire Deluxe 9" kit

But I made up for it getting 2 minty or better kits for under 150
One was a Diamond Fives 2 CM Round Top (Minty) and Diamond Tens 9" kit 3CM (Brand New)
