Title: HOME MADE haywire deluxe reel strips
Post by: mikejmcfall on January 01, 2012, 12:15:07 PM
I got discouraged that I would never find a set of reel strips for my Haywire Deluxe machine(which used to be a Double Diamond Deluxe.) I called every phone number I Googled for "Haywire Deluxe" Finally my prayers were answered. Moe from gamblers choice online, was so nice, pleasant and helpful, unlike the dosh bag at slotmachineswholesale.com  that hung up on me. Moe devoted 10 minutes 17 seconds to help me. She found a photo of the strips in a book she thought she would never need and she scanned it and sent it to me.Since necessity is the mother of invention, I made my own Double Diamond Haywire Deluxe reel strips. All I need was the order the symbols were in then I photocopied symbols from my DDD machine. A little cutting, gluing and laminating and WHOLA a one of a kind personalized set of strips.

I think someone should start a library of reel strip symbols, I guess that would be a copyright issue so we could not have it on here though. Not sure but would be very helpful for those of us that run into this issue in the future. :3-

I will do it if nobody else wants to. Just scan your strip symbols in actual size and send them in. I will keep a running collection and share with all who need.

The hardest part I found, was the order the symbols are on each strip. If you know the order you could make up your own symbols as long as they corresponded to the order of the originals.

With access to the PAR sheets, that is a simple fix for most of them.

What are the par sheets and how do you acquire these?

Here is one for a 3 coin haywire deluxe SS6418. One of the things it shows is the strip layout. As for how to get one -  just ask in this thread (after doing a search to see if it's already been posted).

FYI, from my own experience with making strips, in the end I found it best to not bother laminiating them (that step takes a lot of time). Plus it can make the strips a bit thick and harder to fit in the basket slots, especially where they overlap. I figure as long as they are in the machine, they aren't going to get messed up. And I can print a new set easily enough if I need to.

Here is the thread on how I made mine. I still do it the same way now, but eliminate the laminating.
