You can set your machine to default to adding wins to the credit meter rather than paying from the hopper. Please tell us what SP chip you have and we can give you instructions.

You can determine your SP chip by following the directions here:

A Black Tie game huh? Nice!  :133-
Ladies like that game!  :89-

Knagl is right - you need to post the SP chip number but I have a suggestion that may work too!
Most Black Tie games are set up with a Type 0 chip and you need to get into
the self test options with the little white Test button.

This is how you do it!
Open the door, power up the machine.
Wait for it to "boot up" then close the door and make sure you have no credits in the "Credits" window.
You probably don't but we need to check anyways because you cannot change any settings in the Options if there's any credits on the machine.
Now, open the door again and press the Test button until you see a [2] in the "Coins Played" window.
That "2" means you're in the "Group 2, Page Zero Options".
That might be just one or two pushes of your Test button really...

Group 2 -- Page Zero Options
To change the option setting, press the Spin Reels button.
To move to the next page zero option, turn the jackpot reset key.

So, if you're seeing a "2" in the "Winner Paid" window, turn the reset key once.
You should now see a "5" in the "Winner Paid" window!

Here, you have 3 options you can choose from>>>

Credit Mode <0> [5]
Options are standard credit or noncredit {0}, player-initiated credit {1} and player-initiated noncredit {2}.

The player-initiated credit option defaults to the noncredit mode when the
credit meter remains at zero for more than 30 seconds, or when any accumulated credits are cashed out.
The player-initiated noncredit option defaults to the credit mode if the game is idle for 30 seconds,
and it remains in the credit mode when credits are cashed out  credits are accumulated.

Now, what you want to do is change the number you see in the "Credits" window with the "Spin" button.
Pressing the "Spin" button will change the number to a zero, a "1", or a "2".
I think you want it to be set at "player-initiated noncredit" mode.
So...press the "Spin" button until you see a "2" in the "Credits" window.

Close the door, and you ought to be good to go!

I made a short video clip for you...
It's actually a lot easier to see than to read all this stuff!  :72-

Yes...and No....lol

While you may not have the key, I'm sure your machine still has the 2 wires for the key switch?
It will be located on the right-hand side of your cabinet.
The wire colors are green, and a green wire w/ yellow stripe.

Touching the two wire tabs together momentarily will act as if you've turned the reset key once.
I have pink plastic covers on mine so maybe you'll have to stick a short piece of wire into one to touch the other.
Why not place an ad in the classifieds (http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?board=108.0) Section of NLG for a new Reset key and switch?

Anyways, reset keyswitches don't cost much really...

Here's a couple of pictures of mine I've installed in my homemade cabinet.
You will look different but should be in the same general location -
perhaps behind a DBV cashbox or down further to the right below above the power supply box.
IGT could never make up their mind where to put it! lol

Fixed the broken link to the Classifieds section. -KN

oh my lord! That's NOT true at all!  :60-

All you have to do is hit the Reset key once and the credits get knocked off.
That's called an attendant "Hand-Pay" mode.

PLEASE tell us where you've heard THAT little gold nugget from?  :72-  :208-

What he meant was that he was referring to the unwritten rule  around here on NLG.
If you hit the Jackpot, that machine is no more good for you anymore.
That's when you have to pack it up on a pallet and ship it to me! :72-

Yep...your SP chip is SP731 and the SS is SS3654.

Attached to this post is the SP731 PSR sheet.
Go read the stuff on page 4 of the sheet about "Player Selectable Credit <0> [5] "...>>>

nope...95% that's a normal chip.
The newer machines have much lower percentages
and will suck your pockets dry.

Why do you think they got rid of all the S+'s?
Because they were old? They break down?
Nooo...they wanted to force the casinos to buy more machines
so they stopped production of a real workhorse.

I know a place that has over 100  different 25 year old S+'s running full-time 24/7
and have hardly any problems!

at least thats what the casinos advertise the payout percentages are

I've heard of the term "false Advertising"  ( legally won't apply here though)
and although a casino may "boast" 97% -
I'll bet you the farm that maybe there's only 1 machine in the whole damn place that is set like that.... :72-
Good luck on trying to find a needle in the haystack!

One day it may be set at 97%, some poor sucker hears about it, goes and plays it when they've set it at 85% and moved the chip to another machine somewhere else in the casino.
At that point - you're playing the "shell game"... :96-
When a casino puts up baloney advertising like that - the best thing for you to do is run away as far as possible!

I'm glad the video clip helped you out!. :89-

You have to have tournament chips installed.
I don't think they made tournament chips for the Black Tie game?

I've set my machine once, about 4 years ago, to tournament mode -
that's too long ago for my memory...  :127- :129- :128-
I switched it back after a couple days or so...it's novelty wore off pretty quick.

They do make a tourney chip for this game. It is the same as WS Red White and Blue, so ST0040 is the 2cm chip to run it. It would be a SS3656 in non-tourney mode.......now finding one is a different story, I do not know anyone who has it.
