Post by: mikejmcfall on January 06, 2012, 08:43:06 AM
Any ideas what the 4 wire harnesses are for in my s+ that are not plugged in to anything? They are located behind the 9in glass top. one has 4 wires blk, red, blu, wht. 2nd has 2 wires blk & red. 3rd has 13 wires and is a sq connection and 4th is a blk straight strip connection with 12 wires & labeled 607-321-00B    ESAM 09/98   :103-

all the extra wiring located in the top box was for card reading equipment.  for normal purpose you only need two, the one for the candle and the other for 115vac lighting. the 15 pin molex is used for coin multiplier lamps etc.

the other wiring could be removed, take out the reels and fish all the wiring back toward the hopper area. you will probably see most of it sitting there not hooked up to anything.  make sure the remaining wires are secured to the metal cutouts with a ty-wrap, otherwise they could sag and rub up against the reels and cause a tilt.

I save all the old wiring bundles for extra plugs, pins ,wire, etc.

The 15 pin molex can be used for an internal progressive display like the mini-photon. I personally would leave that one in there.

It is also used for the light bar for the game "Bonus Sizzling 7".   :71-
