I have a future logic printer on my 2000.
Everything works 100%. Problem is light in duckbill where tickets come out keeps flashing.
I did not take it apart & clean yet. Other than that anyone know problem?

Then it's some sort of a printer error...

You have the 1st or 2nd Gen PSA-66 printer?

most likely your setting are set to printer soft tilt and the low paper senser needs cleaning

Couldn't he just block the sensor with a piece of tape?
I've heard of some guys dropping in a piece of 1/4" plywood
the width & length of the tray under the printer paper bundle?

i have 1/4 in dark plexiglass in mine, i have one with a bad sensor and the light is always flashing

Thanks for info. I've been going nuts here today. To much to do around house.
I put tape over sensor - no help.
When I turn machine on it doesn't blink until I print a ticket, then it will keep blinking until I
turn machine of & back on.

Boy what a easy fix this one is, either don't turn it on or don't turn it off, problem solved.

What your saying is turn on & don't print ticket than it'll be ok

When I turn on ticket light comes on steady.
Works Ok until I print ticket, Then it keeps blinking @ slow rate.
It still works Ok & prints tickets Ok.
Tomorrow I have to look through parts & see if I have another sensor.

When I went looking through parts today I found another ticket printer.
I put it in & no light anytime. Better than the flashing.
I think I'm going to do like zarobhr suggested & take apart & check the sensor.

Narrow it down... is the LED okay in the bezel you found?
One way to check is to throw in a coin and print a ticket.
As it's printing...the LED flashes fast!

I've been pi**ing around with this thing off & on tonight.
Now when I turn it on this printer comes on.
stays on until I print ticket & flashes real fast when printing as it should.
after printing complete lights  off  & about every minute it flashes slow from 4 to 8 times.
Next will look for another printer ribbon & work out from there.

Jiggle and re-seat connectors in the printer area...ribbon or wire.
Sometimes you get a better connection and problems magically disappear for awhile! lol

Finished for tonight.
Tomorrow night going to pull apart & go over all wires & connectors for printer.

Glad you figured it out!  :3-
What prompted you to change that board Fordsbs?
Did something looked burnt or broken on it?

I started switching with printer - then  ribbon cable  this was the next thing working my way into machine.
I didn't put it under mag. glass yet to see if I can see a problem.
All I know is when I switched that it worked & is still working.

That will certainly help someone in the future should they run into the PSA-66 "flashing light" syndrome...
